Re: General discussion chat What stops you from modifing the nickname? Once pinned the link won't change. If more of you active folks would be on IRC it wouldn't be "dead". Also sometimes you have to stay more then 5 minutes. Also: "IRC is dead" saying the people posting every 2 hours in a chat thread. *facepalm* Just close/delete this thread, add a rule to not have chat threads and force people to use IRC. Problem solved.

(the one with the titan style cooler) so far only best-buy seems to have it (i've checked newegg (only available in a combo with an ibuypower pc), amazon, fry's, and micro-center (even though clsoest one is 6 hours away))
Re: General discussion chat Forcing people to use a system that they don't want to doesn't often turn out to well, just ask Google+. Here is an idea: Let people who like the IRC, use the IRC. Let people who like the forum thread, use the forum thread. Re: General discussion chat Then you should manage your inbox properly. Since i have my phone connected to my email and my email client open when i am on my PC i always get notified about new emails. I will then glance to see what it is and quickly decide if i should read the email now or if it can wait a couple mins. If it is someone actually contacting me then i usually respond within minutes, if it is a forum post it can depend. Once i am done with an email i just tick if off as been read. I currently have 9 emails that are unread that are pretty much a to do list for school stuff. I find this system works really well. Using Gmail and the Opera mail client. I use the same system on my phone but in a different way.

Re: General discussion chat Depending on how you want "add to ignore" to work it could be really awful. If you want it to hide all messages by ignored users then things would quickly go to crap. Some questions would get 5 identical answers by different people who cant see each other and im fairly sure things would go down due to other members getting irritated due to your inability to see their comments.
