Re: General discussion chat I assume swiping in from the right to access charms on the touch screen didnt work? Not that it matters, I do have a USB host adapter I can use. I've just ordered myself an HP Stream 7. Although I would have preferred 8 inches, I have used 7 a little and think I can get used to it, I do have a small capacitive touch stylus. 3 to 5 days to ship, dunno if new year and/or weekend will interfere with that. They are £80 from microsoft store at the moment so same price as a linx 7. 32gb storage, 1gb RAM, same atom etc but from a known company rather than unheard chinese one so support should be available, otherwise no different. Also thrown in HPs case for it. Don't know whether to order myself a 32gb microSD card for it now while they are on sale here and there, or wait and see if I can find somebody with a 64gb microSD card to try in it to see if those work. Officially it can only take a microSDHC card upto 32gb whereas the 64gb cards are microSDXC (which allows upto 2tb if not for it being impossible to put 2tb in an SD card at this time), but the SDHC and SDXC interfaces are almost 100% identical and in many cases an HC device will read an XC card just fine. It costs more to license the XC branding so sometimes the devices are infact XC compatible and simply branded as HC with anything over 32gb simply being unsupported for warranty type claims, sometimes though there are firmware restrictions in place forcing an HC device to only read HC cards and some older HC host chips dont understand the minor change to XC. In this case, the atom bay trail is XC capable, so I dont know if its a case of the driver only supporting HC even though the hardware can do XC or if it will actually read an XC card. I dont have the cash to just buy an XC card and hope it works though. Ah fuck it, considering I'm setting up a home file server soon, I'll just get a 32gb SD card now I reckon.
Re: General discussion chat So I'm making beef jerky. Last night I got some beef and cut off the fat, cut it into slices, and put most of it into a marinade that roughly follows a guide I used and I put some of it in another one with extra stuff like root beer, sugar, and red peppers.
Re: General discussion chat Got my Monoprices. Download speed is ~190 bytes a second right now. 4 days for 75mb. What happened to the lightning fast speed of the fiber-optic network?
Re: General discussion chat Great. My mom lost the cookie recipe I got from a family friend years ago for super awesome chocolate chip cookies. Just great.
Re: General discussion chat I have this really unethical desire to light Piers Morgan on fire. Nope, never mind, it's an ethical desire.
Re: General discussion chat My mom found the recipe. I made cookies. - - - Updated - - - Decided to push my laptop to the limit by stressing the CPU and GPU at the same time and see what the temps were. CPU 3GHz T9900 hit 89c GPU FX1700m overclocked throttled at 98c (Doesn't throttle at stock speeds) Chipset hit 96c It runs cool otherwise. I did the test again with my battery saving settings in place. (GPU forced to low power state and CPU set to max speed of 2.2GHz at .9v.) CPU: 58c GPU: 71c Chipset: 64c At stock the battery lasts under an hour. With my settings in place it lasts over 3 hours if I'm not gaming or anything.

Re: General discussion chat I am currently flying out from juanda international airport. The very airport in which the Air asia flight took off. And I'm also flying from surabaya to singapore, on the same type of plane. My friend was on that plane. Well anyways, I spotted a posse of news vans and cameras, thought I might share these images. My condolences to those who lost their lives in this tragedy.
