Re: General discussion chat Not really true softbody, its definitely not the same type of soft body physics beamng has at least. Its a vertex based damage system just like GTA 4/5 use, albiet a little more refined and tuned. It makes for damage which can often look quite real and is different after each crash so its a pretty good solution.
Re: General discussion chat Yeah I thought the same thing, just like "uhh no, not soft body. Rigid body with soft body components, just like GTA" just got Wreckfest, not really impressed. Graphics are great, but derbies are anti climactic and the cars hit like they're made of rubber. Old flatout games did it better, when you plowed another car, it went flying and parts went everywhere and there was a big smash sound. With this game, you hit something and you just stop. No noise. Kinda rubbery. whatever, still in alpha. Still awesome

Re: General discussion chat fixed that for you. Put some stuff in the dishwasher at work this morning. Turned around to see the table leaning at an angle with a plate sliding along it and just thought "well shit, this is happening". Nice bang and a crash, smashed a heck of a load of stuff on the floor, table lost 1 leg with another barely attached on. The table performed its job flawlessly.
