so the other day i had something weird happen to me, i just got in my car, fired it up and warmed it whilst i was getting changed into something more suitable for going out to town. Then i got in the car and pulled out to the edge of the driveway, but here's the weird thing, i just stopped. I dunno why but i got these real bad vibes. Now my car may have some problems going above 100km'h (this is my average little corolla, not the torrie) like jiggling steering, bad wandering and badly worn outer left tire but its still fine to make trips to town and back, but this time i just couldn't bring my self to pulling out of the driveway and going to town. Its never happen before, so i reversed back down the driveway, parked under the tree and i asked my mum to drive me. She was a bit weirded out by my sudden freakout (ok thats an exaggeration) but did so anyway. Strange it was, it was indeed
You should probably check the tie rods and the fuel pump. I can't say I'd be terribly comfortable driving that thing either.... you might want to have it looked at.
My Regal has been having steering issues as well. I know I need a wheel bearing, control arm bushings, and tie rods, but I think the rack I got last year is also contributing to the half inch of play in the steering. I may also need to replace ball joints.
yeah i know, i just keep it at 90km'h, the speed limit is 110 but that thing gets hella squirrely at that speed yet at 90 its perfectly fine, if i have few cars behind me i just pull over and let them go past. People (most definitely me as well) dont like getting stuck behind slow people here. My parents say get a "new car" "it'll be safer" " its easy to get parts or fix things". What a crock of shit if i ever heard, i should just build a shed then move the torrie down here so i can drive that (that car is with my pop who lives in Perth). The problem is that i cant afford to get it looked at, and thats another evil of modern fwd, i cant do anything myself with this thing so fixing its is quite off the table for a while. I've been driving around in it since but that day i dont know why but i just couldn't drive. And i have to ask what on earth has the the fuel pump got anything to to do with it ? do you mean power steering pump ? Edit: also my car has about 260k km's on the clock, owned by a little old lady who supposedly had it service religiously, oh why did i overlook the damn tires
I went up to Blue Mountain just before quarantine this year, and since we had such a warm winter here in PA, they had all of the snow machines out. I was on the ski lift when I saw an 8th gen F-Series with a flatbed parked on a snowdrift next to the slope, and this flatbed had a giant snow machine mounted on it. I thought it was super cool and I'd never seen anything like it. I would've snapped a photo, but I didn't trust my fumbly gloved hands with my phone that high above the ground. I've tried Googling snow machine trucks, but to no avail. Have you guys ever come across a truck like this on a ski trip, or just have come across other weird trucks in general? --- Post updated --- What kind of Corolla is it?
I just saw about 10 birds flying around and eating things in my backyard. One of them got a fat worm too!
One of the hardest blues tracks ever recorded. RIP Freddie King, man could rock. Guy on bass guitar killing it too. I'm goin down down down down down
Well, I made a long post about this back in August. I'm gonna avoid cussing this time. because I don't want this getting removed for offensive language. We've got 326K deaths in the US now and still, anti-maskers. We could have 90 million COVID deaths and these people still won't wear masks. They be like "Dont Tread On Me", and they're flying the US flag cause "FREEDOM1!1!!!!!!". In my opinion, they're making those flags look dumb when they're not. Jesus, I hope this isn't the second coming of Caillou. Love to hear feedback. LOL XD
You said you'd love to hear feedback, so I am going to try to respectfully present the other point of view. This is that mask mandates and other controls (such as curfews) are not in line with science but are instead taking advantage of the situation to institute unreasonable control over the population. I have two main parts to this. 1. There was a massive study done that shows masks are ineffective, which makes sense one you think about filtration particulate size vs. efficiency and just how low the efficiency of most masks is. Here is a link to the study: https://www.acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M20-6817 Nearly all filters have a dip in efficiency around a certain size (0.3-micron diameter). Here is the best explanation I have found yet: (explanation begins at 6:08) Long story short, the momentum of bigger particles allows them to get through, but their size gets caught in the filter, whereas the smaller particles do not have enough momentum to not get bounced around by the air, and so get bounced right into the filter. Unfortunately, at the size of the virus, it does not bounce around nearly as much as in the video (which would be quite helpful). Especially in the blue masks that are available to most, the filtration efficiency is not nearly high enough to provide any benefit. The higher quality masks are more efficient, but I think we all agree that those should be reserved for healthcare personnel and those at severe risk. 2. Additionally, there are even larger studies (10,000,000 people in my example) that find no asymptomatic transmission of the virus, with or without a mask. A link to that is here: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-020-19802-wThose without symptoms then wonder why they have to wear a mask, that doesn't work, and not go outside when the government says so, despite the fact that they are not contagious, even if they have it. This leads to the conclusion that they shouldn't have to comply with these commands, and that they are being unfairly treated in the name of safety. I hope that I have managed to present the other viewpoint respectfully and clearly, feel free to respond
Yesterday my dad's Peugeot 408 was wobbling weirdly. It fixed itself after a while. Oh, and he installed a light bar in the grill. Why? No idea
Okay, I will say this. Thanks for being respectful. There's a lot of cases where people managed to die of COVID because they didn't wear a mask.
it only really becomes a problem if you are over 45 and/or have some sort of immune system problem These are the death rates according to age. Not to mention that only 2.6% of people who actually get the virus die from it.
I wear a mask in public because its more respectful and even if death rates are low, I would like to not be sick. If wearing a mask slightly decreases the chance of contracting the virus then I wear a mask. I don't want the possibility of spreading it to my family, but I also want to live semi-normally. The way I see it, the masks aren't there to stop the virus molecules, but the saliva that carries the virus molecules. I imagine it like there is an island. You block all boats from going to the island but still allow people to swim there. So a few people may decide to swim there but it would be a lot less than if they were to allow boats to the island.
