Just got Just Cause 2 + DLC and the whole Portal series in Steam for cheap. I love Steam Sales. --- Post updated --- Also I'm playing TDU2 ATM so...
Hmm, looks like it's starting. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/california-bill-ban-fossil-fuel-120400191.html
As much as I hate to admit it, I do believe we might as well get started, since petrol is going to run out one day, and from what I've heard, it might happen before 2100.
We might be able to find another source for ICE fuel, other than fossil ones. https://arstechnica.com/cars/2017/0...ream-for-car-makers-facing-tighter-standards/
Would rate this 'informative' I guess we'll see. Speaking of fuel, one thing I heard about is ExxonMobil using algae. Would this be a new type of fuel or something?
I fully believe there are ways to make a synthetic petrol for current ICE cars on a large scale. We just have to find a way to do it. I also believe that these synthetic fuels are fully capable of burning much cleaner, more complete (resulting in free mileage gains in almost all cases), and cheaper. I know for a fact this fuel already exists. But the governments and oil companies of the world silence those who have it for their own financial gains.
That bill says nothing of banning ICE cars, I says it would ban the sale of new ICE cars. I think this is good. We have to do something about rising ocean temperatures whether we like it or not, and this bill helps that without banning the use of pre-existing petrol cars. I personally don't believe there will ever be a total ban, for the same reason you can still put plates on a car from 1896, or even ride a horse on the road: They will just be so few and far between, it won't matter.
considering quite a few people on this forum seem to be born since 2005 and that many experts believe it will be a few decades before 2100, and the rate at which people seem to regularly exceed 100 years of age, yeah its quite possible that many here will live to see it. Now I was born in the early 90s, bit less of a chance to make it to 2100 myself but its not unreasonable for me to do so and certainly not unreasonable for me to make it to at least the point we run out of oil.
I don't know if anybody spotted this grammatical error. Isn't it supposed to say "Ingame repository is currently under maintenance, it will be back up soon."?
I agree that maybe we'll probably done be gone by then, but what about those who'll be alive in 2100? How will it effect them? Would rate these posts 'agree' I actually didn't notice it until you brought it up.
In my opinion ICE or othe piston operated engines should stay, as some people like my just can't live without this great working machine kind of feeling which you can't replicate with electric magic thingies. Driving a ICE car is also a lot safer from the psychological side, as with every acceleration comes a lot more noise, which is actually a good thing cause you start to concentrate more on the road. In let's say a tesla, you can't really feel the difference between 100 and 160kmph, but when you'd have to do the same kind of speeds in my dad's old renault megane from the year 2000... 120kmph would feel like 40kmph in tesla. Mostly due to engine noise which with stock exhaust and even a small 1.4L 75hp inline 4 at about 4k rpms is anough to get a headache at let's say 140-150 kmph. The same goes for pedestrians, I had multiple ocasions where I was just walking on the parking lot and I didn't notice that an electic golf or a prius was sneaking behind me, even with eco cars fitted with ICE you can hear them. Electric engines might be more efficient, but a lot less safe. But I might be just insane as I think that all of those lane keep assists and backup cameras and too much sound proofing and automatic transmissions should be banned as it just makes more dumb people be able to drive. The same as in my opinion after getting the license a person shouldn't drive a car with power steering, traction controll, too many airbags, satnav and without parking sensors, for a few years. So it would be harder for her\him to drive, so they will either give up with driving forever or they will learn how to drive a real car first.
