My OCD has given me the subconscious opinion that you can't buy new shoes until your current pair falls apart. I've been trying to talk myself into buying another pair of Converse for two years but my Timberlands refuse to die and give me the excuse. Maybe this will be the year that my conscious convinces my subconscious that this feeling is irrational and having two pairs of shoes is indeed an acceptable practise.
You're paying $200 for squishy styrofoam so keep that in mind. Comfortable but def not worth $200 IMO. I do wear mine as my beaters, and they aren't very durable, so also keep that mind.
I just use the $37 "Shoes for Crews" non-slip shoes I had to get for my job as my driving and "street" shoes. They're a little bigger than the sneakers I used before, but those are falling apart something fierce now, and the SFC aren't anywhere near clompy enough to cause me difficulty driving. They don't look half bad either, or at least they didn't before all the abuse and grime of a greasy fast food kitchen took its toll.
I wear rebok classics. Cheap and reliable, very comfy and quiet too since they have foam padding in the bottom. Are they fashionable, not really, but they have the benefit of being trainers that can pass off as smarter shoes if needed. However that isn't to say they are suitable if you need to look sharp. I also have wide feet, which means many shoes don't fit me. Obviously these ones have seen better days xD However I wear my shoes until they can't be worn no more.
Every man should have at least three pairs of shoes. A pair of work boots, a pair of dress shoes, and a pair to wear daily (unless you wear work boots or dress shoes daily). The work boots should be comfortable enough to spend a day walking around town in, and sturdy enough to take any kind of abuse you throw at them (literally and figuratively).
