    Also Twitch Prime too.

One thing worth noting is that if you are a student you can get Amazon prime half price (in the UK at least).

Wow. Could've gone for that if I knew at the time...
Got the £59 deal anyway, works out at £4.90 a month, that's still cheaper than Netflix WITH all of the other prime features. Will still be keeping our Netflix subscription though, since a lot of stuff we want to watch is payed.

I have netflix but its pretty useless, haven't used it in months as I very rarely even find what I want on it especially after they stopped VPN functionality. Usually end up using stremio to stream a torrent..

It's kinda sad that we have to illegally stream using stuff like putlocker if we want to watch the latest mainstream movies without having to go to the Cinema because we cannot afford to subscribe to services like Sky.

Well, at least the technology's there to watch movies at home, so movies aren't outings.

I have tried steam in home streaming before and it worked well. However since I live in student halls having devices talking to each other on the wifi would be a security disaster, hence all connected devices are isolated from one another. This means that I cannot use any in home streaming or Internet of (dangerously insecure) Things devices.

We are not allowed to set up our own wifi networks because if everyone did the reception would absolutely suck since all of the channels would be flooded with everyone's wifi networks.

I guess I could use a switch and an Ethernet cable, however that makes in home streaming a little pointless. Although I could get a 10m Ethernet cable that I can roll through to the living room for film nights. However if I am lifting a 5.1 speaker system to the living room moving the computer doesn't add much difficulty since the 10" sub is still the most difficult thing to move.

Having watched the first episode of The Grand Tour, I can say that promise is hopeful. While I found the first episode to be a little weak, it can only go uphill. The main throw down between the 3 hypercars was nice and very well done, the news was funny and well put together. I think the new track poses a nice challenge for upcoming cars. However, it had some bit that were painful to watch. "The American," their tamed racing driver, is unfunny and annoying (That's what happens when you hire Mike Skinner), the celebs scene was painful, and the introduction took forever.

Overall 7/10. Not bad for a first episode, hopefully the series improves.

I asked my boss at my job if i could build a really ghetto trap house or a lean house out in the woods where there is a abandoned swingset. The area of trees in behind the school of this campus where there is a commercial grade playground. I was going to have tar paper roof, fake cockroaches all over a old carpet floor, lots of used cigarette butts from last months shocktober halloween event all over the carpet, my own handmade graffiti and lots of moldy furniture and couches. I could store my mini hookah and my wood stems in this leanhouse. Well my boss said that i would have to obtain a building permit to built a super ghetto traphouse or a leanhouse.

I found "The American" bit quite funny, although I do hope that they are not planning to drag that out over the entire series with the same number of puns per episode, since I am not sure there are enough good punchlines to cover that.
I think they should have ended the celebrity bit after the snakes, since the joke started to get a little old after that point.

Overall I would have put it at the level of an average old TopGear episode. I think the feature episodes where they do challenges are going to be the highlights of the series. Whereas in the first episode they decided to lay down the framework for what will follow in normal episodes. Either way I think it will be a good series.

I am also interested in seeing the next series of TopGear now that the presenters have had the chance to get to know each other a bit. Its similar to how US TopGear was pretty bad to start with but got much better over time.

What's wrong with having a written exam for an AP Computer Science class?

Computer science = computer programming. If you still don't understand, you have no idea what programming is, and I will not explain.

    Computer Science != Computer Programming

While there is certainly a very strong relationship (programming being a subset of computer science) there is a lot of very important theory stuff too, for which a paper based exam is useful for judging. A good programmer should be able to describe how a double linked list works. In job interviews you will very likely be asked "competency based questions", where they will ask you to describe how something works.

Equally a good programmer understands how the registers in a CPU operate, how parallel and serial ports operate, this is something that is very very difficult to illustrate through a high level programming task.

Another reason is that as a computer scientist it may be your job to understand and solve other peoples problems. To create diagrams (such as class diagrams) and documentation for programmers to use in order to implement a solution (often a higher paid job than programming itself). It is very important that the programmers understand the job of the systems designers in order for the programmers to write good code that does what it should do.

All of the above is especially true if you are only using languages such as C++ (Or alternatively any low level language). Since those languages tend to require that the programmer actually understands what the CPU is doing since there is a close connection between your code and what the computer runs. If a programmer does not understand how it works they tend to write bad or inefficient code.

If you program in a language like C#, JS, VB, Java, Lua, Python... etc then it is difficult to show that understanding through code. So the exam would be required to show that you do actually understand it, since if you will be learning languages like c++ in the future that knowledge is close to essential.
