Suggestions for a good mouse? Im tired of replacing them every 3 months or so because I get the cheapest thing at the discount store.

IMO, the Logitech M325 is a good mouse. I had one previously that lasted me a long time and did pretty well. Currently I'm using a M310, because that's all I could find at Walmart at the time I got it.

If anyone is curious as to how much PCI-Express link speed matters for GPUs in gaming...

I ran Fallout 4 at 1080p ultra graphics using the same setup, except for the GPU running in PCI-E 2.0 x4 vs PCI-E 3.0 x16. In x4, I got horrible lag in spots (like down to 10 fps). With x16 in that same spot I had 60 FPS with vsync. PCI-Express link speeds are very important for high-performance!

The GPU I used is a Radeon R9 Fury X. It performs wonderfully in x16, but x4 bottlenecks it like crazy, though that should not be a surprise given the sheer hardware specs of this video card.

    Oops...

    1413232C-3CFA-4A45-961C-3CB8D2AA2146.jpeg

Three months old, I traded my FX-6300 system for it.

    i5-4278U @ 2.6 GHz
    16GB of ram
    1TB spindle

This is not the 1.4GHz 4GB model you bought from the Apple Store, the guy had to order this machine and it was easily almost $1,000. The sum of the components I used to build the FX system means I got it for something like $125.

I'm not compiling code with it, I'm using it as a media consumption device. Plays YouTube and Prime Video fine, and that's all I really need it for.

Can't run OpenEmu on a firestick, now can you? Or torrent with one, or play CoD or Half-Life.

And where can you find a firestick that’ll hold a fake IKEA plant?

    That’s what I thought.

Ha, you can torrent with one, or side load many android apks that let you do what you want. Yes the android fire stick is pretty slow, at least the normal one is, but the 4K one is much much faster.

I have ran gtx1050Ti at x8, there was small effect with that, but not huge as card is not quite so beefy, but still enough to notice.

Dell's website servers are a piece of shit. Even Ubisoft's are much more stable. I need to experience a million crashes and hanging just to download a fucking driver.

Tried to make my own OS/2 Warp VM on Virtualbox for an whole day. Ended up downloading a pre-made VM disk with the OS and guest additions installed instead.

So fan issues with gtx1080 have been sorted out.

It had issue where only 2 of the 3 fans were operating, I read that there would be PCI-E connector related issues, or some other motherboard compatibility issues, some claimed it is designed so, with lot of testing it always appeared to work with M2 drive on other slot.

Eventually truth was fairly simple though, there is no any kind of smart logic involved between different fans, all run from same power connector, there was electrical gremlin installed by factory.

You kinda would except that such product would be put together with bit more care, you would except there would be some testing done, but no.

I'm going to ask Gigabyte to send their address so I can send a bill from completing manufacturing of their product

I think I've somehow managed to kill my motherboard. I have to struggle to get it to POST, then after it does, boots, reboots, and shutdowns take forever. I'm currently 14 hours into a memtest86 with no errors, so that's what's pointing me towards board. If it were ram or even CPU, the memtest wouldn't still be running.

    Shit.
