If I can find a heatsink for it I think I will, looking at some video's of people playing GTA 5 at 30ish fps with ok graphics. Might chuck a I7 2760QM in it while I'm at it. All depends on finding that cooler which seems to be scarce.
I've done similar laptop upgrades before. My old laptop is a 3GHz C2D with an FX1700m and 1200p screen. Was a 2.5GHz with Intel GPU and a, well, missing 900p screen when I got it.
I've done this thousands of times before buying multiple ThinkPad's to make one good one. My T420 for instance was pretty much complete aside from missing RAM, the RAM cover, HDD, HDD cover and keyboard, which prevented them from powering it up. I'm a gambling man and took a chance with £50 no love lost of the screen was broken, apparently they didn't know the secret "How to power a ThinkPad up without a keyboard" which is to remove the cmos battery and plug in the ac adapter and it will automatically start up, but I digress. I did the aforementioned trick and lord behold a perfectly functioning screen and Notebook, satisfied I ordered a keyboard and a Msata SSD chucked in the 8GB of RAM I had in my old T400 and et voila my ThinkPad as you see it today. I've done this with every ThinkPad I've owned which is about seven IIRC, I like to think of myself as a bit of a ThinkPad guru.
you'll hit the good old friend of non direct x 10+ compatible gpu so won't be able to run beam from it
Would these be nice budget ish builds for Beamng? Expensiver one: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/KvnJJx Cheaper one: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/jD2N8d
Stupid school. They have i7-4771's with terrible terrible GT 620's. Wouldn't the iGPU be better? Also, 1366x768 monitors ftw. And so many disc drives lacking the rubber band thingies (I'm tired, the technical term fails me).
Well, i just listed my 7u IBM server on craigslist. Sad that i have to do that, but i never use it and want the money.
Bought a new faster SSD Guess my old 160GB will go in my ThinkPad as it's fast storage drive and the HDD can go in the ultrabay with the help of a adapter.
I'm late, but would 6GB RAM be an issue when playing NG? Also BeamNG is quite CPU intensive, you'll need more cores to to spawn more cars. UPDATE: quoted the wrong post.
yeah but you edit it again... I've genuinely been on forums where infractions are issued for double posting like that
