Oh... :$ I'll probably just chuck the camera then. Hopefully the app will end up working. Otherwise I don't really want a tablet as terrible as that one is.
I just saved my poor MacBook from extinction. It's decoding some video and decided to start thermal throttling at 94c. It's never gotten that hot, I hope I didn't damage anything. It's in "SUPA MEGA COOL DOWN MODE" with SMC Fan Control running both fans at 6000 RPM. Now it's at 85c and falling.
So, what I have done: Installed spacedesk. I can steam a virtual monitor to multiple devices (just not the tablet, due to terribleness) with good quality. And it's free.
Everyone knows my computer is running with a 400w PSU, but while making vidoes, I keep running out of my 16gb ram, I have an old computer with a spare 4gb in it, if I pop it into my computer... even tho it should take u 12w max... should I try it? I'd have 20gb total!
It sounds like a leaf blower. UPDATE: I've currently got my box fan sitting on 4 plastic cups, with my Mac sitting on top of it. It's down to 70 degrees now with my patented Robin MacBook Pro Box Fan Cooling.
Ya know what sounds like a leaf blower, an 8800GT at 70C. That thing cranks it's fans. And then my 650 sounds like a V8 motor compared to it.
Oddly, I've never had a loud computer my rig is only a small hum, and its under my desk, at the back of the wall, so my feet rest on it so basically I can't hear it, but I'm starting to suspect coil while coming from my 960, I hear a weird sound when gaming, and it doesn't sound like a fan.
The Pro doesn't use passive chassis cooling because it isn't a slow, useless piece of crap. My Pro uses a dual 6mm heatpipe system with dual blower style fans for both an active and slightly passive cooling solution. Watercooling the bottom really wouldn't do anything, but it would be awesome.
and im sitting here with a couple 1u servers. Loud af. sound like a jet engine at startup. im afraid neighbors maybe able to here it startup lol.
After playing around a bit with MSI Afterburner I decided to OC my 750 to 1350MHZ (memory is also overclocked a little, dont know the exact numbers though) Don't know if it's stable yet or not. Gonna have to see if it's even worth the 15°C that it runs hotter under load.
I tried overclocking mine. Not much to be done on PCIE power only through a 240w PSU. Only got about 150MHz over stock out of it before it crashed. Never went above 55-60c though. One time I taped two of my fastest fans together and pushed my CPU over 1.65v with it because I could.. Still didn't get over 5.2GHz. It was slightly loud.
So my computer just scared me. It rebooted during the night and booted to wrong hdd(because im too lazy to set boot order). I noticed my usb peripherals were not working. So i rebooted and still, my usb devices didnt work. so i plugged in a ps/2 keyboard when it was shutdown and booted it up. It didnt work either. I powered it down and the next 2 times i tried turning it on, it didnt POST. I cleared the cmos, and it still didnt post. Left it unplugged for 5 minutes and now it posts and my usb devices work.
I'll be damned. Overheating my MacBook to 94 degrees last night did actually damage it... In the form of the right speaker, which can't get any farther from the heat output of the CPU, and is now a paperweight. Mono sound master race?
Probably melted a wire for the speaker. Or something similar to that... I'd actually be worried about what other damage may have occurred... Maybe take it to the *wince* Apple Store.
I'm extremely worried about it. I may have to put it back into retirement after I break it down a little and find out what the problem is.
