I want this Mustang. https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/5204397970.html Its got some mods and an auto. My dad wants a FoxBody, I think this'll do, being supercharged and all.
Trust me, I'd rather it was a manual, but the manuals are so beaten and abused that you'd just be buying a money pit. We only want to be doing very small things to this car, maybe a cam and an intake, not complete restoration. If I can find a manual this clean, believe me, it'll be the one that's bought.
I've never understood why everyone thinks Fox body Mustangs are gold, Or well Mustangs in general, I've got nothing against them, but they were never intended to be a performance car, Carroll Shelby himself said that the Mustang was a secretary's car. That being said, a GT500 was not a secretary's car, At all. Maybe its just that I've always preferred the mid-size cars, like Chevelles and Cutlasses and GTOs, And the Mustang, being a compact never really did anything for me. That being said, I'm not bashing Ford here, I never really cared for Camaros or Novas either. It just seems that around here, anyone who has a Mustang that isn't just a piece of traffic, thinks its God's gift to man. Although I don't think theres ever been a bad looking Mustang until now, I think the brand new ones are some of the ugliest cars available, There isn't one angle that it looks good from.
I think that looks really really good. I think the Mustang is more of "The Car" than cars like Chevelle and GTO simply because it is still around. I'm more of a fullsize/wagon (Country Squire, Crown Vic/Grand Marq/Town Car, LTD, Olds LSS) guy myself but I love Foxbodies. I love the understated styling. I would love to have an LX Coupe with a 5.0L in it. I'd also love an 86 SVO. I think the LX looks better than the GT in the 87-93 model years of the Mustang. I don't really care for the louvered taillights or the body kit.
Oh I've got nothing against them solely, Its that out of the Pony cars, Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, It could be imagined without alot of effort for certain Camaros or Challengers to be considered "Muscle Cars" Seeing as how it wasn't too hard to find one with a big block, a 4 speed and some wide tires. While the Mustangs were smaller and lighter, small and light enough to be considered a small car. That being said, a little Mustang with a 429 Cobra Jet would be terrifying. And I have to admit, seeing a brown notchback Fox body do a 10 second 1/4 mile would be pretty damn impressive, they are great sleeper cars.
How much power and how fast are the Holden race cars? And are they rear wheel drive? (imported from here)
Google's been around for about 16 years now. http://www.v8supercars.com.au/championship/technical/vehicle-details
Ignore Zappymouse's post above, as a true Australia I can provide the real facts. I can confirm for you that a Holden car is left wheel drive and generates around 7 to 8 horsepower.
Just got back home from watching the FIA World Endurance Championship race at COTA, I had a lot of fun there. It lasted six hours with Porsche dominating the LMP1 and LMGTE classes for most of the race. I also got to sit in a ND Miata for the first time, and I was surprised at how roomy it was for such a small car.
