The things that GM and Ford are doing with their Australian operations still burns me up. We here in the United States of Cheap Gas have begged them for these cars for decades. GM hasn't done much more than throw us an occasional bone. Ford has given us NOTHING. Now that they're shutting down, GM has just thrown us one more stupid bone, and Ford has brought over their leftover high-performance engines... to sell to the police, of course. It just wouldn't be right if those engines went into a new SVT Lightning pickup or whatever Ford actually sells here that could fit those engines without too much effort. Actually, the F-series and Mustang are probably the only US Fords that could take an FPV V8 without significant modification, after all since when have we deserved the best products from our own manufacturers? Unless the Australian regulatory climate has changed recently, I also find it suspicious that both GM and Ford are doing this at the same time. It's like I've always said... globalized model lineups would be great if they sold their best cars worldwide. Instead, they get rid of that and sell boring lowest-common-denominator garbage everywhere. Aussie enthusiasts better get used to working with a slowly dwindling, slowly appreciating supply of used cars because I don't think the situation is going to get any better. And that last part goes for my continent too, what with fuel economy regs getting cranked up to full insane in the coming years.
It fucks me right off too because in 2010, Holden was the only GM Brand to make profit. Now that shows how great Holden is in comparison to General Motors other shit brands.
Angry Audi disapproves the wanton destruction of the finest compact sedan ever built. (imported from here)
oh sorry *puts hands up in the air* - - - Updated - - - oh sorry *puts hands up in the air* I sort of don't like German luxury cars that much as lots of them have lots of gadgets (im looking at you BMW) and lots of those gadgets go wrong when the car gets older that and I find that they are overrated. but then I do kind of like some mercs if I had to go for a luxury car I would go for a lexus as it would be more reliable compared to some german luxury cars but I might be wrong as this is just my personal opinion. ok now let me start on my love/hate relationship with super cars.
Today when I stopped at the dealer I walked around the lot. More specifically, straight to the back to see if they have any new police cars like last time. I found a mix of a lot of stuff. A fleet model expedition, an absolutely massive chassis cab F-450, and some other stuff, which was all unlocked. The most interesting thing was an Explorer police, or "Interceptor Utility" as Ford likes to call it. Of course it was one of 2 or 3 locked vehicles out of the ~20 that I walked by on the back row. Sticker price was 30k even, I think. The other one sitting next to it is a regular civilian model, nothing special. Pretty dirty, like it's been sitting for a while.
While we're on the subject of Audi drivers... Just to make it clear, the stereotype when it comes to Audi/BMW drivers is completely unjustified.
eh, ive seen much worse. neon isnt too cringy besides the wing. At least the bodykit is the same color as the car and doesnt have massive panel gap. - - - Updated - - - Oh, and this week I may be selling my car to my friends uncle, and buying a 2001 Crown Victoria P.I. It only has 116,000 miles on it and the guy only wants 1700. So fingers crossed.
Niiiice Check for the typical stuff like intake leaks, etc. I'm sure you know the drill by now. You're also obligated to provide lots of pics. One of the busses at school pissed its coolant everywhere and no one seemed to notice or care. The driver was trying to start it when I walked away.
fo'sho. I can't wait, though. I am looking at it tomorrow and if all goes well ill be driving it home the day after. here is the link http://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/5195675034.html
I've been looking into buying a 50cc scooter to putt around town. I plan on looking at one that "needs work" (Stator and muffler are all the seller mentioned) on Saturday. ($100.) Whatever I get will be named Sasha.
Looks pretty clean. Has the spotlight hole. I'd buy one and put it back in if I bought the car, because its just kinda a neat thing to have. Slide under the car and do a quick check of the floorboard for holes over the front cats. It's a quirky place that panthers sometimes rust out from the inside if they've ever had leaking problems. It was a pisser to find holes in my floorboard. Didn't know till I pulled the carpet up. Bah, I'm sure you know about rust. You're in the upper midwest.
Apperently, Tesla has just announced a new $25,000 battery upgrade for the old Tesla Roadster. Faith in car manufactures restored.
