I think the sad thing is that Jaguar has always been one step behind the big german boys when it comes to in car entertainment. The germans seem to have very slick in car entertainments but the Jaguar does not, it is very clunky in comparison. What we really want/need is a high tech car (tech like the RR Velar) with the grumbly 5.0 SC V8
Totally agree but im not that fuzzed about in car entertainment as long as i have a nice stereo its fine by me. Also one of my dream cars currently is either a jag xjr in black with the black pack or a range rover in blue with the tdv8 as they look awesome
I know, my dream is to have a Jaguar XFR True that about having a decent stereo, but the issue is that the press doesn't care. All they can say is that it takes x seconds to load navigation whereas Audi is class leader having x-2 seconds to load, so has a better system. Like please 2 seconds, does the car have to lose a star because of that? *sigh*
Id rather wait 2 seconds longer and have a nicer car wich isnt boring but tester usually are rather biased towards certain car brands. For example in germany the only time a german brand loses is when they are against skodas but that is rather rarely the case i also very rarely have seen an alfa or jag win against a audi there even when they are often the better car
What I really want/need is a radio/CD player and climate control with buttons. Everything more high tech can go to hell, it's a car after all, not a tablet. Sadly, setups like I described are a thing of the past, so no brand new car for me.
My mums skoda rapid has it its just perfect for normal use. But whats super stupid is the new vw infotainment the one without a dial to adjust the volume id rather spend less on the smaller system and have somethinf i can actually use while driving
I'll agree with the reviewers here. Many infotainment systems suck majorly, especially ones that lag and don't have physical buttons.
Yup, and it's a shame really because we have the technology to make fucking great systems for very little cost in the grand scheme of things. I'm reminded of my first windows phone which was only a single core arm processor running Windows phone 7, but really happily dealt with simultaneously playing back music and running sat nav, and was super fast and responsive while doing it. It was not a powerful phone but it made iOS feel slow and unresponsive in comparison, and as much as I hate iOS, I cannot claim it's legitimately slow and unresponsive because most of the time it isn't. Processor that went into that phone is less powerful than the one that goes into car infotainment these days, and yet it was so fluid. There really isn't an excuse for the infotainment being complete shit, yet it all is. Some day I will probably try building my own, I think it would be a fun project.
Getting towards summer slowly. Gonna try to get bike license this year. May be doing a bike build as a project over the next year or 2, don't have space for a project car
Restoring bikes can be space intensive as my garage is full of parts for mine but the nice thing about old bikes is that theres nearly nothing you can fix with standard equipment
I'm assuming you meant "can't" fix right? My bike will also be coming out, but probably not till around March or so (that's about how long it takes to get above 50°F or 10°C around here). Besides... first I have to find myself a proper gasket for the side of the engine... at the moment it leaks a bit of oil and that is no good... It also skips a bit in second gear under power... but we will let that slide for now...
It basically is straight piped already because its a motorcycle from the 70s and they had nothing like that for that moped
Thats very interesting. I want to get a minibike frame for a Honda 8hp motor I have, but its hard to find a cheap frame that is relatively period correct (probably 1985-1990).
Neither have I, but that thing looks awesome... This is my death machine... 1982 Yamaha Seca XJ 650 R
