I absolutely get what you are saying, but there is no way mid engined is more tame. Unexpected oversteer in a Front engined rwd car is not too big of a deal, in a mid engined rwd car unexpected oversteer can put you in a hedge very quickly. If the new Corvette is like that concept and affordable enough, get ready to see lots of people turning off the traction control and putting it into large crowds of people outside cars and coffee.
Why the heck do you think? If true that's an utter disgrace! I've told people before that I think it shouldn't be possible to buy an automatic or dual clutch without proof of disability. I'm only half joking there. I absolutely wouldn't be opposed to instigating a boycott of that car, or maybe even all of Toyota, until they give it a real manual.
I think dual clutch is ok. It offers true performance benefits that manifest in real life use, if that is what you want out of your car then more power to you I guess. The Supra was a sporty GT car, as such I can understand why an auto box should be an option since some people like that for Grand Touring. I really hope they offer something outside of a plain auto though to cater to everyone else such as a manual or dual clutch. I guess Toyota would argue the GT86 exists. Obviously a manual would be nice for driving satisfaction. I'm just happy that it isn't an SUV xD
I'd rather have just about anything over a Golf... or any other hatchback that's of the "chopped-off wagon" (i.e. not liftback) version. Seriously, "brickblob" is the only thing I can think of that describes them. No lines, no style, no nothing. Their designers made them very practical, but forgot to leave room for any beauty. Not that they're bad looking, but they're not good-looking either. The Gremlin is pretty much the same thing, but is better than your typical modern hatchback aesthetically speaking, because its squared-off front end and decent-ish width allow it to look sort of tough with a rake and fat tires. That's what I was getting at, though - the Gremlin was the butt of many jokes when it came out, so why are cars of a similar style all the rage now, even in the US where coupe-sedan-wagon has traditionally been the way things are done? Also, I still say that Torana is just too dang tall for how short and narrow it is. Everything people made fun of the Gremlin for (aesthetically, at least), that Torana does worse.
I mean the old Eclipse wouldn't sell these days because car people would be complaining that its FWD not RWD for example. Just so fanboys remember, this is the original Supra.
You make a good point, however the Hyundai Coupe was around until quite recently and that still did pretty ok. Among enthusiasts the FF layout in a car that looks FR is not entirely well looked upon but to many consumers this may not matter. Plus as far as the UK is concerned it will have made it far more accessible to young people because the insurance would be way lower than a rear wheel drive vehicle. Which is a fairly big deal too.
Say what you want about the Torana's looks, either way it'll never not be a badass car. http://imgur.com/e2iA0Lt

I guess you don't wanna give chavs access to a cheap rwd car, Tesco could suffer from it. see me dee some wicked skids in me fuckin' corsa mate in front of Tesco's
Bought Chinese wideband. It didn't work at first, started to sort of work, then completely broke, in the span of about a half hour. Also I still need a new clutch disk sometime. 11PSI is significantly slower than 14, but it doesn't slip this way.
Hey, I'm not your typical Mustang driver. I can hold the slide. That's the cool thing about having an abandoned mall 5 minutes from my place of work. After a bad day, I have a parking lot all to myself, as such, I teach myself car control. I am the Keychain Tequila.
Can anyone explain to me how the hell Mitsubishi declined? In the 2000's, they seemed to be doing decent but now they just make shitty, old, boring crossovers. Why would they kill the Evo and if they hadn't, would their brand be better off or what? Their fate is probably going to end up like Suzuki
I still think the Supra thing is disgraceful. Akio Toyoda has come out and admitted that Toyota's car's aren't as fun to drive as the competition's, that that's a problem, that he's trying to fix it, it looks like they're making progress, they even managed to make the Prius feel like a car, and then they have to go and do that.
