Honestly, having to make an appointment does sound a little odd. When I got my permit at the Kansas DMV, I was out of there with a permit within 45 minutes after I got there on a busy day.
We Americans have been drooling over AUS Fords for I don't even know how many years. Now they're going away, pursuant to the new Ford & GM strategy of selling roughly the same lowest-common-denominator dreck everywhere. Finally, we at least get some of their engines... or rather, OUR POLICE DO. Insert ragesad here.

Since this pretty much goes against everything Ford has been saying lately about V8s I'll believe it when I see it. If I do see it, I know what my next car will be.
I don't know if you read the thing but it looks like it'll be an Australian exclusive type thing, you'll probably have to wait 15 years for the police Fusions to be Auctioned.
There is always hope we won't be forgotten like we were for the Ranger to. Ford discontinues everything I buy from them.
With all this I'm considering the heretical move of defecting to the Fiatsler side of the brand wars. I never liked Chrysler much except for the Viper, but some of GM's advertising at one time (haven't seen much recently) didn't sit well with me (and a lot of their recent product doesn't really appeal to me either), and I'm beginning to despise Ford. First because according to people who've allegedly worked for Ford (note, this was a guy in a comment section, so I don't know if his words were authentic, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were), that company has a creepy relationship with the U.S. Gov't, and second because they seem intent on annoying the enthusiast communities on two continents simultaneously. I mean, seriously, would you want to buy from a company that taunts American enthusiasts for years with American-style muscle sedans without ever importing a single one, then discontinues them still not having sold a single one in the U.S., and then for an encore sells the leftover engines to the U.S.... the U.S. traffic police. Also, flat-crank Mustang. Utter heresy. All three manufacturers, however, are going gaga over displacement downsizing, and so, annoyingly, are a number of apparent car enthusiasts, even in cases where the downsizing comes with a severe reduction in power output.
And yet they manage to completely satisfy the european need for mental hot hatches in the focus RS... Hell the mk1 RS they actually lost about £4000 on each one they sold, but it kept the enthusiasts happy, as do the more regular ST models. If only they could keep it up elsewhere. The falcon, that is just a nuts car like the commodore, actually given the choice between a falcon and a commodore I may take the falcon, mostly because I've been bitten by GM before yet never had an issue with fords. Still, the "VXR8" (HSV Commodore GTS) is still the only Vauxhall badged vehicle I'd consider buying. - - - Updated - - - SO not sold in US simply because its too similar to the f150. Additionally because it would be too expensive to import under the US regulations and they would need to build an assembly line in the country. Simply not worth the effort. Yet is sold in a few countries alongside the F150. It is sold pretty much everywhere else ford operates. Fairly popular as pickups go in the UK.
The PX Ford ranger is made in Thiland, I have a friend over there who builds parts for them on the assembly line. The Ford factory he works at is literally right next to TJM, You'll find alot of the PX's parts are made by TJM. I'm considering buying one, I love the aggressive look of them and I hear they are reliable. All the running gear and most panels including the whole tub come from the Ford SVT Raptor
I can always just import one. It can't be that hard, it's just a Fusion with a fancy engine in it. If Commodores get imported left and right, I should be able to get my hands on one of these.
Yay great news for Americans! You can now import a 1988 Holden VL Walkinshaw Commodore (Practically an outdated roadworthy V8SC)
If I'm completely honest, that car is ugly as shit. Look at all of the plastic cladding tacked onto it. The bumpers look like a shit body kit that you'd see on a 15 year old civic driven by a teenaged Mexican kid, and I assume that it's completely stock. Speaking of bumpers, I've been thinking of tucking the rear bumper on my car. It makes the rear end look less fat and more cut. It also keeps it from ballooning and flapping around at highway speeds, because it has a tendency to catch air. People claim it improves gas mileage, but I don't really buy it. Maybe a fraction of an MPG, but nothing really notable. If you're worried about gas mileage you bought the wrong car anyway. Mainly it keeps it from scraping and catching on stuff and, subsequently, being ripped off. Also makes the dual exhaust tips a but more pronounced.
Yeah I'll be honest Im not a fan of its styling but ya know, Authenticity. (imported from here) - - - Updated - - - Why would you park the daily in the Walkinshaw's spot?
ikr? was watching at about 2:50 am when this happened, i was scared for austin, everyone in other countries (who dont get nascar coverage), our nascar wrecks look much worse than your wrecks, but all our drivers are ok. amazing that he was not dead. (also i feel that this belongs in nascar dissucussion, but MOVING ON!)
I dunno. I've been looking at it for a bit, and honestly, I don't hate it. I like it in a sort of foxbody Mustang kind of way.
