Or on the hill right as you let off the brake mash the gas and then dump the clutch. Trust me you'll be fine. Quite a few newer cars I've seen have automated hill start where it will keep the normal brakes on until you start rolling forward, and then it automatically lets off the brakes. I don't use it in my car for two reasons though. 1) It's an auto and I have two feet. No reason to use it. 2) It locks out the brake pedal. Feels weird to go for the brake and have it stop about a half inch in.
Whoever runs the NSW Police page is doing a great job (An Opal card is used for public transport e.g. Buses & Trains)
*sigh* I don't know why but I have seemed to have attained a high liking for SsangYong vehicles, the only gripe I have though is that all the running gear is Mercedes, have they got a trade deal with them or something, because surely they would request a better licensed engine from a different make, like for example even all the way up to around 2013/14 they had the archaic 2.7D and a woeful automatic transmission (its what I would call a slushbox, quick to unlock the torque converter and just a mushy transmission). Now they have a 2.2D which is still not a bad engine, then the 7spd auto from Mercedes uses so much extra fuel, like a 5mpg dent on the Tivoli for example The interior of their vehicles are amazing, very spacious in the Rodius and most of their cars look roomy too, there is nothing inherently wrong with them (maybe safety actually) apart from the weaker than average engines (not just power but CO2 and MPG)
What a waste of a good S2000. Another ricer off the streets. Also I don't know what he spent $60K on, I didn't see any V8s or turbos, so that seems pretty bogus to me.
He probably paid a shop to do the work, and if I had to guess I'd say he got ripped off by the shop for labor and part costs
I'm "this" close to making a dumb decision, found a 72 Cutlass with an Olds 350, TH350, and a 12 bolt rear, he's asking $5500.
My parents would kill me.... '94, 300 I6, 5-speed, 97,000 miles, $3,495. I want something easy to work on and fix to learn my way around cars more. The simplist thing I could think of is a pickup truck, and this one fits the bill. The Sonoma is my dad's, I want my very own truck. She's got a little ventilation, but I feel that adds to the charm. I could learn body work and painting by fixing that.
Thanks for all the advice guys! Hill starts are no longer as daunting as they used to be, and I've learnt much about my car. Especially that it doesn't like practicing hill starts- in 3 days Ive done half a full tank (250km)
Over here you have to get your car certified if you do any fairly major mods to it (engine swap, bodykit etc) but I do think the rules are good so you get them done properly and safely. Except there are still boy racers out there with badly done mods. That would cost around 10-20k here in New Zealand so get it.
Just found a great road nearby. The camera doesn't do it justice unfortunately, but I was having some fun it the corners.
