Trapped in my own driveway by yesterday's crazy snowfall. While trying to rock my way out of my driveway into a panic to get to work, I noticed my engine suddenly sounding a lot more muffled and surging at idle. Thought it was snow going up the muffler and getting in the way, but it turns out that if you rev it to stop the surging it'll blow black smoke. Help How much debt am I about to go into here Meanwhile, I'm trying to call work and tell them I'm buried alive, but I've been getting nothing but busy signals for the last half hour. Really life? WHY
Maybe compete in rallying with it? Seems fair, powerful engine, rwd, steering. See, it got everything it needs
Videos like this just make me hate modern technology just that little bit more, something like that seems really fun and doesn't even endanger anyone but the driver but speed cameras wouldn't care and there isn't really a way to avoid them if there were just police patrols like there would have been 70 years ago then something like that would be nearly risk free because all you would need is a few spotters to tell you if anyone is coming rather than an extensive search of the area that would probably lead to at the very least being questioned by the police due to suspicious activity. As more and more time goes on there will be even more cameras even if there aren't many now, yes they aren't cheap to set up but they probably make back the money it costs to install them in just a few years, they seem like an investment and that is what worries me.
What? Good luck finding a speed camera in rural Kentucky. Speed cameras in the US are unheard of anywhere that isn't a major metro area. Even then, they are few and far between. I've never seen one. Stop talking out of your ass and get out a little.
Maybe they grabbed an image off of Google, photoshopped it for 5 minutes and then said "This needs to happen." Not to mention but the facelifted F150 looks like it had the Super Duty's front fascia photoshopped onto it.
it looks like a stretched out focus coupe, I think they should have stuck with the retro styling like on the early 2000's mustangs.
The rear side windows on those have always irritated me. Other than that they are a fairly nice design. I also quite liked the new one and don't mind the face lift new one. However I will reserve full judgement for when I see one in the flesh.
It looks much better with louvers, but I can't afford louvers for it. The pre-facelift S197 is my favorite of the modern Mustangs ("modern" being SN95 and newer). And Legend Lime is also my favorite color that was available for the modern Mustangs... Minus the Cobra R's red and Deep Impact Blue found on post-facelift S197 and newer. I've also been quite fond of White. I had to search up and down for so long for my car. Do you know how hard it was to find a low-mileage V6 (for insurance purposes) with a manual (thus negating said insurance purposes), no traction control, and in Legend Lime? Two painstaking years. It's not even in that great of shape. The clutch literally exploded (probably original), the timing chains rattle, and it's been wrecked twice by previous owners. Top Gear Top Tip: Don't purchase an ex-rental car.
SITREP: It wasn't just running rich. After much idling and a drive to work and back, it still sounds sick and still surges at idle. Also got a momentary check engine light on the way home. Is this going to be several hundred dollars, several thousand dollars, or "LOL your engine's ruined, you could find another one in a junkyard but for this hunk of junk is it really worth it?"
Idle surging tells me perhaps a vacuum leak... but the smoke and whatnot is confusing. I'm saying it could possibly be air delivery related, maybe a manifold gasket or something. Other than that, I'm of little help.
I was trying to brute force my way through snow well above floorpan level - very well above, once I went one side over the edge of the driveway into my much-lower front yard (in my defense, the depth of snow meant I couldn't really see where the edge was and didn't have much fine control over my heading) - so I'm not sure what that could screw up, though I might be leaking something. I've got tomorrow off, so I'll probably call the stealership and see if they can diagnose CELs in pre-OBDII cars (assuming it's on at that precise moment, since it was only on for a few seconds). I don't want to get it fixed there, since their parts counter guy circa about 11 years ago is singlehandedly the reason my transmission doesn't work as well as it should, and they'll probably charge more than an independent would anyway.
