Re: Murder Pickup Do you have a download link or do you plan on making it public? Would love to drive this beast!
Re: Murder Pickup Download added, disclaimer added. Drive it at your own risk - - - Updated - - - Things I'm working on: -RWD is pointless for this truck, so I will more than likely make it only 4WD, or remove the RWD option to simplify suspension mods. -Sport suspension and off-road suspension leave a lot to be desired, this is also a WIP -Steering is a mystery to me, but there easy code lines I can work with (strength, dampening), WIP as well. -Tire strength, I know nothing about this code besides grip....so I'll work on grip
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition Hmm, this may be a map setting. I used the in game editor, but it should only be in the pickup files... Maybe try using the in game editor like in the tutorial, and set the layer 0 and layer 2 color to black? I'll have to look into this, I'll be away from the computer until later today. I also just updated the file, I made some changes to off-road steering and suspension.
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition Ok, So I installed this on my gaming desktop, which didn't have a modded pickup. It spawned white, and the tail lights were not tinted. I assumed that copying my pickup folder and just having someone copy over theirs would make it just like mine. This is not the case it seems, and there are a few things that have to be changed to make it final. I apologize, I thought it would be an easy copy paste type thing. I will explain how to clone my pickup: IF you download my pickup, it spawns white and you want it black, follow these steps: Make the game windowed, open world editor (F11), select material editor, then make a box around a section of the pickup, it will say "1 object selected", and the list of pickup materials will show on the right. 1. First step is to change layer 0 on pickup, to emissive. This should make it pitch black, and in case it isn't, make sure the color is black for layer 0 and layer 2. If it still is not black, mess around with the layer colors, make sure everything is black. It's possible it may become "too black", in that case just lighten the shade until right. (imported from here) 2. Next, change layer 0 on taillights to emmisive as well, and change color to black. To get them really black, I removed the diffuse material., and a few others. This was pure guess work, and it turned out exactly how I wanted it. I also did this for lights_on Here's how my layers look: Lights, layer 0: (imported from here) Layer 1: (imported from here) Pickup lights_on Layer 0: (imported from here) Layer 1: (imported from here) Layer 2: (imported from here) It's also VERY finicky when saving the layers and materials, half the time when you respawn the changes you made will undo. It takes a lot of saving and double checking the save.
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition You're never safe from the cops, even in a tech demo. (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) Related update news: I am working very hard on revamping the suspension for off-road and default, it is very tricky to work with. More grip, higher PSI= Tires catch while cornering hard at high speed = Catches and rolls over = Stiffen and raise front suspension = Not so easy to flip, but still does it.... Less grip in front tires, more PSI= Doesn't turn at high speed, but stable...
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition Meh, don't remove the old version while fixing reported issues or while updating it to the next version please. Wanna mess around with it!
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition Agreed! I know its not an easy job to fix the truck. But still, it would be nice to have a link to the old version. Either way, I'm excited to see how she handles after this. Keep it up man!
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition Well, here is the old version: pickup.zip (18.2 MB) https://mega.co.nz/#!SQVkGZ4L!Wh2gVz1gmVfpLzFoXv0FmmkpzX8Ej0pXyi6l3ibLqdM Creator of this mod, dont get angry, but just let the old version. This game is in Alpha, Mods are mostly WIP's, also not perfect. Just update with hesitating and then update topic and download link. There is no need to remove link, people/player just want to have something like your awesome mod. Hang on with your good Mod!
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition Apologies! I wasn't receiving updates in my email from this thread. I have no problem uploading it again, I just felt bad because it wasn't all black when you guys would swap it in your vehicles folder, that was my main reason for posting the Murder truck haha. I will upload the Pickup that is a WIP on my desktop, I spend the most time on my laptop (9pm to 6am) working on suspension, tires and steering, so I'll have to upload that version later ( a little more done to it suspension wise) I'll clarify again what has been changed: -Pickup body drag lowered -Engine power output increased, redline increased -Transmission gearing, shift points, off-road differential gearing, axle friction lowered, driveshaft no longer breaks -V8 4WD default, and V8 sport have LSD differentials stock now. (This means RWD is a burnout fest, and is fairly pointless lol) -Sport tires are a little stickier, this causes it to flip if you actually want to turn on pavement though over 100mph... -Tie-rods for off-road steering, regular steering and sport steering are stronger, they should not snap, EVER. -Off-road suspension sway bar stiffer, stronger. Front and rear. -Off-road steering and regular steering faster, and smoother, lock increased And again; problems, glitches, comments and concerns are welcome. For an average all-around drivable, fast pickup, I recommend 4WD V8 default, since it can turn for the most part. (The off-road tires are fun, but I'm still working on actual cornering ability at speed (rollovers are fun, but not every 5 minutes) - - - Updated - - - - - - Updated - - - External link is up for the time being, winzip is being cranky. I noticed this too, were you using sport tires or default tires? I'm not sure what changed, 1133MPH was very lucky though, but 900MPH should be the minimum. A huge factor in the top speed is also how careful you are getting there, it's not easy to get past the 500MPH "wall", that's when the shape of the tires change and you have to be steering with the dainty touch of a womans finger. I had to upgrade my photobucket account, fixed now.
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition Hey man thanks a lot for the truck. Keep up the awesome work man!
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition Thank you! I'm experimenting with lowering the ride height of the default suspension. Along with swaybar and tire pressure changes, this seems to help cornering and 'drifitng' ability quite a lot.
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition Updated to 1.5, whatever that means. Added a couple things to changelog. Default suspension lowered and stiffened, rollover problem for the most part is actually solved. You can drift this truck like a car now without catching a front tire and flipping over. Also made a teaser video for the Drift Contest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCfSa3-2zWA Current tasks in progress: -Brakes -Off-road suspension (Prerunner baja tune. Land a big jump, drive away)
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition This is a fun pick-up to drive and crash's nice a full speed http://youtu.be/inMkh1_XKqU?t=7m52s
Re: Gavril Pickup, Top speed 'MUЯᗡƎЯ' Edition Great video! Thanks for using it! You made it look great! Were you using the off-road suspension? Seems to flip over a lot, I will work on that. I spent more time on the default suspension than the off-road suspension, my fault.
