Don't forget that LucasBE has other projects. You might say "But he had plans for Barstow IV! Why would he make other projects?!" Well, the answer is simple, motivation. Maybe LucasBE lost interest and motivation for this mod, and what's there to update? Does the mod work correctly? Yes. Are there any good configs here? Also yes. If you don't like something, you can make an addition to the mod yourself, or wait for other mods for Barstow IV.
1. yes i bought the mod, got a working product 2. where did he explicitly "promised" those big updates ? he had plans on adding IRS, Sidepipes and a 6 speed gearbox and plans can change
I don't know if it's just me, but I'm struggling to see why would you even bother to throw another fit just because there's no active updates or whatsoever. Maybe I'm just that simple enough to enjoy the car for what it is, or maybe, I find other things that keep me satisfied, but jesus, is it really that much big of a deal?
People are acting like it's broken and unusable because it hasn't received fixes for nonexistent bugs. What really matters is that it's still a fun, high quality mod. Use it as is or don't. Either way, there's nothing wrong with it.
I did buy it. And I got what I paid for - a high quality, fully working mod. But you got what you paid for? Promise?
The pro drift config sucks imo, I wish it could get some improvements. It's too snappy and you can't hold angle without spinning out.
See, there's the issue. You shouldn't buy mods on promises. Buy them if you like them in their current state. I can see how you'd be disappointed and even angry at LucasBE but to me this is an expectations problem. I got into the same situation with Civetta Mondello mod, I knew it was a bit rough but I expected it to be constantly updated, yet it was abandoned. Which is why I'm careful before making any purchases now. FWIW, I got this car on release because I wanted a good-quality dumb 90s muscle car and I got that, I don't feel mislead or underdelivered.
Ngl. that mindset has the same energy as those people who discontinue support for paid mods just because someone leaked them.
it wasnt just 3 people and you can find those complains all over in the chats with his mods. also he didnt scam people, you got what you paid for a working complete mod, when your expectations are to high maybe keep those in check and im still waiting for people to show me where lucas made those promises
if they dont like em then why waste the energy posting on paid mod threads instead of gee idk doing literally anything else like engage with content you agree with instead of get yourselves all riled up about this like seriously you're not going to change the authors mind, if anything you reinforce the decision to make it paid via means of "lol you guys are insufferable morons pay me to deal with your dumb asses" ... i guess foresight is rare these days
