If you have warning points, it will be more restricted than someone without. ie: A member has 1120 posts and 678 ratings but they have two warning points. They would get more restrictions than someone who has 1120 posts and 678 ratings and no warning points.
i think a post to ratings ratio would be better. 1 post for every 2 ratings for super, 1:3 for ultra user, and 1:4 for gearhead keep in mind these would only be available after 1000 ratings was hit, to discourage people just making one real good post.
But everything over SU would get the custom title. Maybe the character number that can be used change
AAAAAAND if someone was banned, they would have lots of restrictions until the moderators think it is okay to take off SOME of the restrictions. (I think I should combine this into one post..)
I do think the moderators should be a bit harsher on the trolls, honestly. What should the restrictions be?
the punishment for being banned/getting a warning point is just that. i dont think that restrictions should be added for anyone but new members/problematic members. ive been banned twice, and have 5 warning points! but i dont think that i deserve punishment for things i did in the past.
Maybe being only able to post maybe 3-5 times a day and no more, only able to use premade avatars, no statuses, ect.
They would be lifted eventually. Also, what do the warning points do? (I have none, just curious) --- Post updated --- Would they affect all members (I like my ASP avatar...) and what would the avatars be?
it puts a little red warning box on the top of your screen that says "You have warnings Please behave, thanks! ... ... failing to do so might result in a temporary or permanent ban this warning disappears once your warning points expire" outside of that nothing happens.
I think that's a little too restrictive. I like the freedom of making my avatar and status whatever I want.
*Cough* *cough* Wikipedia Articles *cough* *cough* As for punishment, a lot of the things you did are now in the past, so there's no need to punish them now. And I do agree with Fera and Firestriker, the moderators need to be be more harsh to the trolls, especially when it's a case like leosky, and users should have restrictions after being banned.
That would be for new members. I only agree with the premade avatars though... Also, we need tighter rules on mod reviews, I've seen so many terrible ones...
