Forum Overhaul

I think the forum needs an overhaul or just some general improvements.
Some of the improvements I would like to see are:

• Lua Syntax Highlighting
• Dark Mode
• Overhauled Search
• A more modern feel
• Ability to change profile name
• Improved emojis

Just my thoughts but I think it would be nice to have.

the forum is designed like this since it (and alot of early beamng) was heavily based off of RigsofRods, the game that all of the original beamng developers met up on, and the forum that RoR uses is virtually identical to this one, mainly due to simplification in navigation i suppose, as well as nostalgia

given the reduced forum traffic nowadays, and the fact that the forum doesnt really need much of an overhaul as its functionality, while basic and in some forms primitive, still works just fine, i doubt any rework of the forum will come soon

you can ask a dev to change it for you and they usually will pretty easily

 

the thing that annoys me about this forum is that people don’t know how to read. the forum overhaul has been confirmed by leeloo and nadeox on many occasions (on multiple platforms, as well).

 

much like the official wiki overhaul, that had the 'this wiki is going to be replaced soon' banner for god knows how many years

ive just learned to take it with a grain of salt that some content just doesnt get overhauled, honestly id rather the forum stay just like this since there arent any issues with this structure right now, and messing with it could break the forums

 

They can't break the forums they have a way to test it and fix anything that's broken

 

i honestly kinda want that to happen, i need to spend less time on here
