Nice work mate! I'm also from Finland and I would like to see some rougher forest sections too. Like some harvester trails that go through the woods. I could take a little trip to a nearby forest and get you some video footage if you want to!
There is actually a forest section wich is harvested And im planning to add them more for role play fans.
Another set-back strikes again. Because my game was acting weird and freezed on some of the terrains, included mine i made clean re-install. After that i got error (picture). Every single tree is gone. Second question, after every install i made, why do i have to put my one of the Finland.ter and Finland_basetex files into art\terrains\Gridmap folder ? And if i don't do that my terrain ground is missing. They are same files wich i have in my Finland terrain folder. Cheers, Markku
Good luck on this. It looks great. Add trees there are a lot in areas I love Finland and their metal bands like Nightwish
You must have edited the Gridmap map then as your base for the map, didnt you? Which means your files are going to be bound to that folder. You have to manually go into the .mis file of your saved map (open with Notepad C++ or something) and rebind all the files to your folder. for example, do a search for terrain and you'll find: new TerrainBlock(Industrial) { terrainFile = "levels/Industrial Shiv/indshiv.ter"; That line of course is taken from my own map, in which I had the exact same problems you're having because I edited the Industrial Map. About the losing the .forest file...you may be SOL there I'm sorry to say. I had the same problem when I updated BeamNG.Drive because I had changed the original .forest file of Industry for my level, and then the update overwrote it, so I lost all my vegetation and had to do everything from scratch again. In that same .mis file for your map, make sure you find the line where its looking for the .forest file, and change the directory to your folder so this does not happen again. Really looking forward to this and I hope you can find that .forest file...it would suck to have to re-do all of this. EDIT: Oh, this may help: http://www.beamng.com/threads/3768
