I've always loved the Finnish landscape, gravel roads, forests and lakes and because my last terrain Green Island got also messed up i started something i've been working on allmost a week - Finland terrain. My goal is to at least give gravel roads that Finnish feeling, sharp corners, jumps, ditches. Every curve should add challenge for you. Map is 2048 and will be covered with different gravel roads, lakes and fields with small drainage ditches just for the details.

Needs a bit more trees, also you're too forgiving on the corners, and it needs a bit more ditches. But the feeling was there, also I want to know what sound pack you're using.

This map is still in very early stage and things you mentioned are all ready mentioned in my first post's plans list. Im building this mapp section by section and adding details is very time consuming, for example it took me over hour to build a simple river. Right now you can see only some basic trees, theres also a actual forest around the lake but when the time is right i'll starting to add more ditches,bushes, trees and drainages side of the roads. There isn't any sound pack, i just found those sounds from my old collection. Thank you! Yes, started with simple 2048 gridmap ground and added other things later in edit mode. Oh and btw, how to fix overlapping roads ? I somehow managed to get gravel road section under the main asphalt road but now it's over the main road again and it doesn't look nice.
On the road settings there's a render priority option that you can change to prioritise certain roads during rendering. Unfortunately, it's not implemented in the game yet I don't think so it doesn't actually do anything just yet. For the time being you can either put up with the z-index fighting, or you can split the road and join just the edges up to the other road.
Looks good so far, but shouldn't this have a more dense forest? From what I've seen watching rally video's, in Finland there seems to be a lot of trees.

Yes,also the hardest part because we don't have pine trees and you have to improvise a lot to get that Finland forest feeling. But im not there yet because on some places the ground needs to be a bit higher, so making all the forest more dense and adding bushes is the last thing i do when im sure i don't change the ground heights anymore. Right now the main focus is on the roads and drains. Quick question also, is there possible to save forest editor brushes ? Every time i close the game or editor it resets my settings, except brush size,pressure and softness. Daystar & phipck , thanks for letting me know.
As far as I know, you gotta reload the brushes whenever you exit and reload. :\ Looking forward to some high speed Finland rallying.
