@DaddelZeit just released a fifth-wheel for the D-series. The only problem is, there's nothing to haul with it... except the T-series trailers, which are a little on the big side unless you're a big-three marketing rep. A big camper (skinnable, of course) and/or a goose neck flatbed would open up a lot of possibilities. It would reqire a different fifth wheel attachment, but I imagine this is a case where if you built it, they would come.
https://beamng.com/resources/trailerpack.734/ This is probably the closest you can get to gooseneck trailers as of now
I guess I should clarify: What I'm thinking of would require two different bed hitches, but I mean trailers that are suitable to tow with a pickup, rather than a semi tractor. Right now the only camper in the official list is a small pull-along, and a repo search turns up nothing. Aaaand I guess I should have done a forum search, because there is a gooseneck + small trailers mod already. https://www.beamng.com/threads/trailerpack.25228/page-12#post-1236970 Still no big campers, though. That would be a big project to produce something with limited functionality.
I just loaded it up, and it works. Right now I've got a Piccolina and a junker Hopper on the flatbed, towed by a D35 Cummins mod of the D-series. I linked to the exact post in that thread that included the updated zip because it's recent compared to the file linked on the first page. I just ran out of time to try it the other day.
In the small trailers mod, I had my gooseneck come loose. With the regular view, you don't see into the bed, so all I noticed at first was really sluggish handling until I realized that I was pulling the trailer with my tailgate, which was bent out in a nice V shape.
That is...um...interesting, considering the coupler strength is the same as the T-Series' fifth wheel coupler.
