On further study of my FPS I have noticed that sometimes my fps will be stuck at about 40. Sometimes restarting beamng fixes it, sometimes I have to log windows off and on again for the FPS to return to normal. During the 40 FPS limit my GPU is only being used 50%. I'm fairly sure its not over heating and throttling back. I can't pinpoint what I do to cause it to get stuck at 40FPS, but It's normally fine until I go in and out of the map editor a few times while working on maps. EDIT: Also seems to do it when switching scenarios or maps. I have to quit Beamng fully each time I want to change level/scenario it would seem. EDIT EDIT: I normally run in borderless window(pictured above), as you cant open the map editor when in full screen. I have just switched to full screen mode and my FPS is best I have ever seem it! Its gained another 10 fps! Now topping out at 80FPS
me after pasing to windows 10 whit directx11.1. wen i open a maps (all maps) like 10 second after the maps was open its crash. but wen i put beamng in beta its work. ps sorry for my bad English i speak french
Can get around 30FPS or so but it is jumpy and here are the settings: I used to do much better then this, so yes my FPS has really gone down hill. All of my specs are in my sig. This is on the desktop, I have yet to try the laptop.
Hi everyone, i'm french so sorry for my bad english. I don't understand why this version on dx11 is so laggy on my rig, maybe windows 10 doesn't love this game like me BananabenchX64pickup v4.0.6 Win7 64b 48mbeams(4cars) Win10 64b 55mbeams (5cars) Runs perfectly on the 2 windows with all settings on max, average 45/60fps v4.1.2 Win7 64b 53mbeams(5cars) Win10 64b 67mbeams(7cars) too bad, setting on Lowest, 7fps to 150, with 1 mod 15/20 fps same car same map... Takes about 10x more time to load levels and cars it's strange to lag with the cpu at 25% and the gpu at 50%.. E8320@4.7 2x4KingstonSavageCas8 1066mhz M5A97 r2.0 Gtx770 windforce 4g 1345/3750 SSDwin7 DDwin10 Gaming on 1080/60hz This game is one of my best since the first's versions thanx all devs for the work, sure the next version will be more stable and win10 friendly
all brilliant on my setup, except for tyre smoke, unusually demanding, get 60fps on normal and then with tyre smoke 20-30, guess I will have to drive safely!!
My only performance issues so far with this game are the occasional random choppy slowdown that does not seem to be related to anything which occurs for about 10 to 15 seconds after playing for a half hour. However, I have fine tuned the freqency of my RAM and CPU overclocks to more even numbers and have not seen this issue running the game for 2 hours straight just yet. I've already got the basic specs related to this quirk listed down in my signature.
I Also have some small issues with my new laptop. It's not the best gaming rig (it's not meant to be) but isn't terrible either. It has a I7 4710 MQ, NVidia Quadro K1100M (2GB, dx11 compatible), 8GB of RAM (single module) and the program is installed on the SSD. I've manually set the program to use the NVidia card, have the latest driver but Beam still says it uses the integrated Intel Card (Intel 4600, 2GB) It doesn't really matter which graphic settings I use (except for dynamic reflections) or how many cars are spawned, there's lots of 'sudden' lag. FPS in DRI and JRI is almost everywhere terrible, FPS in ECU is fine except for some locations (...and I've crashed the car again..) I used to have a better FPS in DRI on my 6 year old laptop on low to lowest setting than on my new laptop on normal to low settings. Is there something I've done wrong, can I check somewhere if the program really uses the Nvidia or the Intel card or is the program to blame?
Tip: switch Vsync on in game options. Pros: No screen tearing and your GPU does not have to work that hard (60 fps limit instead of constantly 'the highest' fps)
FPS got higher , but not as I wanted ... 4790K+980+16GB. Im getting from 40 to 98 fps on East Coast map. Maxed out w/out Dynamic Reflections.
For those having issue with the DirectX11 version of the game. It would help us to see what's going on by following a few steps. To be done in both DirectX9 (Switch to BETA in the BeamNG's Steam properties) and DirectX11 You must have an utility that monitors your GPU Usage (GPU Meter, MSI Afterburner, etc) Open East Coast USA, do not change vehicle and gather FPS and GPU usage in these cases: Lowest Graphics settings with Physics ON Lowest Graphics settings with Physics OFF Highest Graphics settings with Physics ON Highest Graphics settings with Physics OFF (SSAO and HDR on, Dyn.Reflections OFF - As by the default settings) Then post here the results. (Don't forget to list your hardware specification and OS aswell)
Vsync was showing as "on" in the options but it really wasn't on. When I unchecked it, the screen flashed like the setting changed, but the check box remained ticked. The screen tearing went away after that so the settings menu was displaying my current settings incorrectly. Now I feel I have to toggle each option to really make sure its state is being shown correctly. This is not a good idea because toggling vsync, fullscreen and fps limiter randomly in quick succession gave me a blue screen of death.
Here are the results: (specs on my sig) DX9 (4.0.5) Lowest Graphics settings with Physics ON FPS:60.8 GPU LOAD:66% Lowest Graphics settings with Physics OFF FPS:60.8 GPU LOAD:56% Highest Graphics settings with Physics ON FPS:32.7 GPU LOAD:99% Highest Graphics settings with Physics OFF FPS:37 GPU LOAD:99% DX11 (4.1.2) Lowest Graphics settings with Physics ON FPS:61.3 GPU LOAD:65% Lowest Graphics settings with Physics OFF FPS:60.6 GPU LOAD:65% Highest Graphics settings with Physics ON FPS:28.7 GPU LOAD:99% Highest Graphics settings with Physics OFF FPS:28.4 GPU LOAD:99%
Alright specs, Dual X5460 Xeons, HD6950, 8gb of ddr2 ecc memory at 800mhz, all running off a pny ssd. All housed in a Dell Precision T5400. Playing on a screen with a res of 1680x1050. DX11 (whatever is the latest version lel) Lowest Graphics settings with Physics ON 60fps, 45% usage. Lag spikes as well. Lowest Graphics settings with Physics OFF Same 60fps, also 45% usage. Lag spikes here as well. Highest Graphics settings with Physics ON 25fps, 65% usage. Highest Graphics settings with Physics OFF Exact same fps of 25, and 65% usage. DX9 (0.4.0.6) Lowest Graphics settings with Physics ON 41fps, 38% usage. Lowest Graphics settings with Physics OFF same fps, 40% usage. Highest Graphics settings with Physics ON 20fps, 63% usage. Highest Graphics settings with Physics OFF 23fps, 67% usage.
Here are mine: (Specs in sig, this is on the desktop playing in 1920x1027) Just as a not I have DX12 installed. DX11 Lowest Graphics settings with Physics ON: FPS:45 GPU Load:88% Lowest Graphics settings with Physics OFF: FPS:55 GPU Load:88% Highest Graphics settings with Physics ON FPS:20 GPU Load:99% Highest Graphics settings with Physics OFF FPS:20 GPU Load:99% DX9 Lowest Graphics settings with Physics ON: FPS:50 GPU Load:90% Lowest Graphics settings with Physics OFF: FPS:60 GPU Load:87% Highest Graphics settings with Physics ON FPS:21 GPU Load:98% Highest Graphics settings with Physics OFF FPS:28 GPU Load:98% Those numbers are much lower then I expected. :/
I don't see any performance issues, compared to the tech demo at least. My specs: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1 GHz (quad core) 8 GB DDR3-1600 RAM 1 TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM (getting a 250 gb ssd soon) EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti SC
In the latest version I seem to be getting worse performance than 0.4.1.2. Probably a good 10 fps drop. The jump to DX11 brought down my performance and now this latest update did even more. I'll attach my log if it helps Specs: Intel i7 3770k AMD Radeon R9 280 8GB Ram Windows 7 64 bit
Strange how this works, now after the 0.4.2 update, it runs very stable on my system at 30fps or more with high settings. It was lagging bad before, from 20 to 30 fps. Kudos to the devs for optimizing the engine, and the improvements to the tires really made a difference, cars feel more realistic and less "twitchy" to drive.
Sweet, not sure what changed but good for you. Do you mind re-taking that GPU usage test you made before with your current situation please?
I will, though it uses 99% of the GPU and it's right where it should be I believe, at least all other games behave like that and run fine. All the official cars run well over 30fps, but I still have problems with the Del Sol and my Prelude, with 5 to 10 fps less with the first, and 10-15 less with my own car. I figure that something was improved in the cars' jbeams that made the physics run smoother, most likely with the wheels.
