I currently...don't own anything... However I do drive a blue 2005 Chrysler Town & Country Touring with a 3.?L V6 and a blue 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ with 5.7L Vortec V8 4WD with 230,000+ miles. (imported from here) (imported from here) I would love to have a nice Blue 2014 Silverado 1500 High Country (if I can get it in blue...it isn't sold that way...) (imported from here) As well as a... (imported from here) Lamborghini Murcielago...
I dont own any of these, but they would be cool to see made! 1981 Corvette and a 2014 Toyota Tacoma (Access Cab) Sources: http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Model_Photos.aspx?year=2014&make=Toyota&model=Tacoma&trimid=-1&familyid=&action=&picturetab=&pictureid=0 ^ If you flip through these photos here, they pretty much show you EVERYTHING, from the door handles to the gauges.. The pictures above are just for the main general idea..
There's this really cool looking Hilux that I see parked in the students' lot. It's got black steelies on it and it just looks so badass. Out of all the lifted jeeps and shit there, it's probably my favorite offroad capable vehicle, equal to, and if not closely trailing a Land Cruiser that's in the Junior lot. There's also a Junior that owns a really clean, late 70s Continental Town Coupe. Really cool car in my opinion. I can tell kinda have the same, rather unpopular, taste in cars. Big, boaty, RWD, body on frame american sedans are badass.
I can dream about this. (imported from here) But i drive this. (DRIVE, not OWN, or anything like that) (imported from here) The actual car.
Heres what i own: And heres my (somewhat realisic) dream car. Okay its not a dream car, but i car i do hope to own in the coming years providing i get a full time job and used prices come down a bit!
Yeah, you will, they are super light and have pretty small engines. But they are also pretty unsafe by modern standards, they weren't that safe when they first launched to be honest.
Actually Ford SportKa (I always like to make that distinction!) The SportKa has the 1.6 instead of the 1.3, with just under 100bhp. Also it has stiffer suspension, and a close ratio gearbox. Here's a picture from google, since my one isnt the best. Actually, compared to a modern car with similar performance, its not great. I'm sure the close ratio gearbox doesn't help, and i'm always looking for a 6th gear! They say the gear ratios were chosen in order to have a sub-10-second 0-60mph time, which supposedly would sell better for a younger market. I reckon i get around 30mpg, and for the most part i do try and drive economically, but im almost never on a motorway. I'm mostly on B-roads, which are a blast in the little Ford. A Fiesta nowadays with the 1.0L 100bhp will do about 60mpg, so yeah, my cars not great.
1.6L on a short box isnt going to be too economic no.... They should have added a 6th speed as an overdrive/cruising gear
So true, if it had an eco gear i'd be much more reluctant to get a newer car. Its pretty much the only thing i dislike about the car. I mean the cars so unrefined, when you doing 70mph, its really quite loud. An eco gear would do wonders in reducing the engine noise, although there's so little sound insulation the wind/tyre noise would still be present.
Its like the porsche 911 7 speed (proper H shifting manual 7 speed ftw), in 7th it runs out of steam for a max speed run, it can't go any faster than it can in 6th. But at 70mph cruising its just fine, its an eco gear. My car makes quite the racket in 5th on the motorway, most of it is road/wind though. But the engine itself does seem genuinely noisier than my old skoda 1.3. My problem is that with only 57hp, you need a fair bit of throttle to maintain 70mph on a motorway, it may only be a 1 litre engine but once you open the throttle up it still guzzles a fair bit of fuel. Sure it can get 50mpg in urban situations. But extra-urban, plummets because you have a wide open throttle 24/7. Besides my car being a craphall corsa, having an engine which just isnt that great rather than being absolutely fucking terrible is one of the big reasons I am looking forward to getting a newer car. Looking online, a 1.3 fellie does seem to score better mpg at cruising speeds than the corsa, which is a good thing as most of my fuel seems to be spent on B roads and motorways.
Here is my car, a 1986 Toyota Camry dlx. It is a 2.0 and it is ungodly slow with about 92-110 hp. Used to actually be pretty quick until I had a shop put on a new timing belt, which they did quite poorly. (Please ignore my ignorant friend in the passenger seat. It was the only good photo I had of my car.)
