actually, back on topic. I'm watching that video and its occurring to me that when the wheels spin there's an amazing amount of vibration. Is that to do with the wheel model? Also, when the sounds of the car skidding kind of cut out for a split second during a wheel-spin, is that an audio glitch or are the wheels hopping up off the road surface? The best example of it is when Gabester spins out at around 25 seconds into the video.

    Open diff huh?
You won't be able to do that with an open diff irl, it would just spin the inside wheel... Forza must have very crappy diffs, because that definitely looks like a limited slip diff :/

That said, I enjoyed the Grand Marshal video a lot, shame you didn't show the full crash at the end, and shame you couldn't get any air off the height differences I saw on the map :p Cool stuff though!

it's mostly because i have both rear tires at max air pressure and they spin easy. Look at the part where i just do a donut after spinning out. Only one wheel spins. I'll try to get a better video tomorrow but i have to sleep now

At low speeds the wheels do tend to vibrate because of their polygonal nature. I'm afraid there's not much we can do about that.

Add more polygons to the wheels n/b?

I know the number was pretty low in ror (14ish if i remember correctly) so would adding more work? Also im guessing its because ror has a really elastic camera but you hardly notice it in ror while here it is very perceivable.

I did try adding extra numrays to the wheels on the MZ2R/Burnside Drag (sorry Gabester!), and although they rolled more smoothly they had a tendency to explode quite violently when you so much as bumped a curb, and considering BeamNG uses very similar physics for the wheels I assume the same problem would be present.

While it is true that was a bit of an issue in ror i was hoping that this may have been fixed in BeamNG. Whether deliberately or as a result of fixing something else.

If I wanted any reasonable improvement I'd have to double the number of rays, which means double the wheel weight and a much greater performance impact.

Exactly! The camera shakes, not moves you can see if it you look closely.
The moving is fine, but there is shaking - as if it's a metal rod

Hopefully they're putting finishing touches on the alpha, although I'm probably wrong.

yeah i though we were gonna have a stream every couple weeks but they never put up a new timer. They didn't take down the "live" page on the forum though.

Ya, I looked on the beamng twitch page and i noticed the second streaming session was recorded 10 days after the first one. So, naturally, I got all excited and figured out what day is ten days after the last one, but nothing happened.
