W.I.P of the new and improved Stryder tiara. Showed the design to my grandfather ( That he is an automotive engineer ) And he said that the proportions are okay. There is no rear yet since i am still designing a rear for it, been working on it for on and off and there are some issues that i have to fix like the flares of the front fender is too pig and i have to fix it and the windshield at the front is too big and the fog lights are too much. I'm open to suggestions and some help.
Some kind of 4x4 I made in Blender for a game prototype As you can see I'm not exactly an expert in 3d modelling, I learned to use blender by myself and I'm more a programmer than an 3d artist. I made it with no visual reference ( appart from the steering wheel wich is just copied from the Peugeot 205 one ) and in a few hours.
The front looks really weird. Too many lights on the bumper, odd-shaped grille, and mostly the bumper line is strange. I've never seen a car with a bumper so high up on the sides. Just imagine if you hit someone with that, they'd probably fall under the bumper and get run over. Not really the best in pedestrian safety. The whole car is still way too high, wheel arches are massive, rear fenders are too flared for a stock sedan, the front bumper has greater clearance than the sides by a lot, and the roof line reminds me of a 5 series GT which is certainly not a good thing. The grille also looks like someone slapped two weird triangles on a second gen Mondeo. And why aren't there any headlights where they are suppposed to be? They just look odd on the bumper. I hate lying, so I'm not gonna lie. This hurts my retinas. Stick to old cars for now and please give them bumpers.
I like the design, it kinda reminds me of one of my old blueprints of a pedal powered vehicle i wanted to built when i was young. However you need to add more polygons to make the vehicle deform nicely. Like this Your truck with that kind of wireframe won't deform the car nicely Here, try to make this wireframe i did on paint. And this All these kinds of wireframes will be able to make beautiful results. Also never use subsurf, it will add too many useless polygons the main reason there is a subsurf to make the 3D model attractive use edge split instead. I'm not a very skilled 3D modeler. My skills in 3D modeling are still developing but i'm trying to teach you the introduction to 3D modeling. Peace
@Pontiac, Keep trying! You're getting better at proportions/modeling. Don't let peoples "That doesn't look like a car" "That looks like crap" bring you down because we all start somewhere.
Those are temporary fog lights. I agree ill fix the ride height. The front arch is the one which is really massive that i have to fix, and its not anymore a sedan, its a 2 Door race vehicle. Are you kidding? I have been designing old cars for like 10 years and i want to start designing modern cars. From all the issues you said about the car, ill fix it the best as i can.
Gavril H-45 Buster ((Thanks To Dummiesman for the Bus body)) (imported from here) This is the first time we put the things together, needs a bit of polish, but it's already quite nice.
What might be happening? A dancing Gavril? (Play music in the background for epic results) (no modifications done to the vehicle, no hydros etc..)
That model is a bit too high poly, the bonnet, doors, windows and roof definitely don't need that amount of detail. If you look at gabe's cars you'll see those sections are actually quite low poly. Just use one on each side then, five will make people blind :/ If it's a racecar then you might want to flare the front arch a bit too. And the rear flare should be something closer to this: As for the roof line, you might want to shorten the roof a bit and add a boot. The only coupes I can think of with a similar hatch rear end are the 911, which is a rear-engined car, and the F-Type, which is much shorter. If you want to keep the hatch style then shorten the roof, right now it looks like a 4-door coupe.
Nice and twisty and looking all weird because we haven't exported it right or made a proper Jbeam. It's just an improper slap-on atm. It'll be all proper once I model the floor and proper interior walls etc
Finally managed to get my Lada model from my messed up hard drive Next thing I want to do is the front chassis detail..
