I'm currently not bothering with country specific parts unless it's easier but notable things (badgings are the main one I'm doing here, eg the yaris has both a yaris and vitz badged versions) as that's an extra annoying pain to set up and manage for every single car, and bloats the config list massively. Like the fiat 500 is technically a japanese spec one I think because it's the gt6 model originally but most the references I looked at when making it would have been eu ones so the lights might not be perfectly set up for japanese market regulations either, and the kia picanto is technically a brazilian market one because it was scanned and modelled off Ezo's one and is probably slightly different to an eu or korean market one.
All cars support both eu and square plates and my tool has an exterimental system to switch between these dynamically based on what country group they're being spawned from (which are set up for only cars that were sold in a market) but I'm not doing the whole having american spec or eu spec lights as options generally because this is a massive pain, usually an information black hole anyway (finding how lights work at all is enough of a pain before you start worrying about different rear foglight functions on top) and generally bloats things tons. Interiors are just whatever here too, that one might change in the future but separating and duplicating every car's interior for a lhd or rhd version is just annoying to deal with for minimal benefit and I'd much rather be modelling the next car than typing the 50th alternate flexbody option for a side marker for a 2011 chevrolet spark, and if I am adding things to the existing cars it's stuff I find more interesting and worthwhile (like for the fiat 500 i've got modelling the facelift parts pretty high on the want to do list which I'd personally enjoy more and feel benefits the mod more)

Though this does make sense, I see it in an alternative way. For example, a Kia Sportage can be found in EU most commonly. However, you can also see that car in the US, not as common. This also can be aligned with Smart: most common in the EU and somewhat common in the US. Some cars that does not have this effect are ones like GMC, Buick, Chrysler, etc. Wherever this tool could go on with figuring out which one belongs in which category, it's just all depends on which cars are most common where. just a little helper i suppose idk

I'll try and do that whenever i get around to doing that discord thing but not sure that'd really be possible reasonably, there's like 100 cars or something currently and i'm not sure if there's any convenient way to show them all off. Was considering github pages or something but i think i'd need to mildly learn web development for that to be able to organise it all.
It would help if i wasn't mid reworking all of them too, i think theyre a bit broken rn

ETK-I needs and deserves some love

Also what should a lore-friendly version of the Mercedes-Benz brand named? Mine would propose Markus-Bernd.

even disregarding these images, beamng companies are meant to represent multiple different real-life companies. yeah, it makes market competition pretty weird, but it frees up time, resources, and space.

more custom suspension things, doing a sorta 6100 truck frontend setup on the d-series as an extra option for the frame. putting off the dakar rally t-series until mid-december cuz for some reason i started it right before school started, and i've realized that project would take up a load of time. so back to basic prerunner stuff!

Nice, how did you get the shading like that? A while ago I was working on a mod for the Pigeon that did that, but I couldn't get the body to shade quite how I wanted it to.

Barstow IV drivetrain lowpoly models :

Coming along nicely. I still have to texture it all properly and finish some other stuff. Once that's done it'll all be going in-game and the next big step will be the interior :p

Please check out the dedicated thread if you haven't already!

Quite proud of how the models turned out, they're very optimized and use similar techniques to the other vanilla engine models.

    Hi.

    screenshot_2024-09-13_18-52-13.png

(Yes will brighten the side indicator textures and also maybe turn them into amber as well, forgive the modelling due to it is hard balancing between the lights to not clip into the headlight base support or the headlight glass)

    Heya, it's been a while. . .
Finally did a bit of work on my wheel mod again.
I have been wanting to upgrade all the textures to PBR with Substance painter and finally found a bit of motivation.

The first wheel I worked on is the Yokohama Advan ADA.
This one has also been completely remade since I was not happy with the model anymore.
    Screenshot2024-08-17205438.png Screenshot2024-08-17183709.png

Also made the 5 lug version while I was at it.
    Screenshot2024-08-17205737.png

Here the current result I'm satisfied with.
(please ignore the tire model poking through the wheel)

And this is the old one for comparison:
    Screenshot2024-05-29204056.png

For the rest of the wheels progress will probably be slow since I need to find time and motivation to work on it.
But the hardest part for me, which is actually starting on this, has finally been done.
Whenever I got something to show I will probably post it here.
Though don't expect a release anytime soon.
We will see how all this progresses.
