I thought that this would be cool to share so I decided to do so. For some time I've wanted to make a fantasy car, but I've been fumbling with design ideas and I just couldn't think of anything that was appealing to me. With my inability to sleep yesterday I thought of a design that I can work with and that I like (good thing I reacted fast, I almost lost the mental image ). That being said, this is still a very, VERY, rough sketch. The design needs a massive overhaul with proportioning and details. Even though this is true, I still like the base of the design and what I'm able to do with it. (It's supposed to be a supercar) Also, no need to worry about the GTR, I'm going to finish it before I even start serious design work for this.
Something different today. As I was preparing to make a new video, I thought of having a different kind of AI, something that would fit my EndlessHighway map. (Or on a new map I created just for the next video) On my previous videos, the car I used to chase was just a car that had throttle stuck on 100%, so it didn't steer or anything. That wasn't really great, so I came up with this: The idea is of having an AI that kept driving along an Axis. If you pushed it away the axis, it would return on it. At first I thought of just using the Waypoints mod, but sadly it crashes on experimental, so I started messing with the default AI modes, and managed to cheat one of them with the help of Miura. This AI simply keeps the direction I assign to it. If I tell it to drive on the Y axis, it will do so and will also do something to prevent going out of path. Here's a demostration video: This little thing would be pretty useful to create more realistic 'chase videos' EDIT- Here's the video for which I made this thing for https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDgl2HsUcms
I guess we needed a place where to take off the B-25. (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) WIP
I had that very idea before. Unfortunately, my lackadaisical method and less-than-proficient programming experience caused the AI to periodically spin out at random (usually when the player is turning) and pursue the player instead. Hell, if we as a community could just find a way to take the above, and deform the result with a spline, we'd basically have freeway traffic AI.
More n/b work... Thanks to Dkutch I've got suspension blueprints, so the suspension is 1:1 accurate with the real car. Now I just need to match the rest of the bodyshape with the car and then do some texture/materials work, then it's done Model by Chong McBong
One which was released on the forums already but of a quality that can only be described as russian rather than Mythbuster extraordinaire.
Now I only need to do the rear end, and the body is finished. Then I'll have to do the structure and crop the body into panels. Also need to curve the pillars, the windows are placeholders right now.
77km/h slalom with no skidsounds or tiremarks, and doesn't pull more than 0.95G in a corner... No more Mr nice Ford. Of course I hit the very last block...
Defiantly my most anticipated mod atm, it will be great to have yet another car that handles properly Great work on it. Chong McBong made some great GTA models in the past so good choice of mesh too.
I've started to work on this project again, The Nova is in the waiting line again. Tweaked the suspension to suit, The car actually feels like it has rear drum brakes now. The next to be fixed is the missing textures.
Taillight prototype: Thoughts? I really need feedback on this thing :/ Edit: Inspired by Porsche 918, Corvette c7, and Pagani Zonda (yep).
