I'm assuming that's your colour palette, but it looks like you have it set as a "baseColorMap" instead of a "colorPaletteMap"? I'd ideally need to see the files to get a proper idea of what's what. Have you looked at the official skins as a reference? The H-Series has a few colourable skins already that would prove useful. And for the Hood, it would just be a case of lining it up with the line on the fender as best as you can - maybe follow the line on the leading edge of the hood? The UV Maps can be a little tricky on some vehicles.
The hood is the only issue (alongside making it colorable). I've attached the file in case anyone wants to so how much of a mess I've made of it.
Got it working. I know it isn't much help, I'd ideally need to explain everything that was incorrect and how to correct it, but I'll attach a re-done version and you could maybe compare yours to mine to see the differences. Not much was actually wrong at all, but some things were worth changing for the sake of future-proofing and compatibility with other mods. EDIT: Removed the file since everyone that needed it now has it.
I don't see why not, that's basically how I learnt to make skins myself. If needs be I'll explain it properly (or someone more experienced can?) but I think just comparing with other people's stuff that works, and looking at the official stuff too, is honestly the easiest way to learn this stuff. (A lot of it is just copying and pasting official code anyway...)
Hirochi Sunstorm on C1 Shuto Expressway, 200+ MPH. Notice the absence of rear seats and the inclusion of wide rear tires (325s).
I have a question, how did you learned to make a skin? is there a tutorial thread for it or did you watched something from youtube or something else? it would be helpful if you tell me! (i really wanted to type and throw a "Good sir" at the end, but i didnt)
This one might help; I probably should've watched it before I tried making a skin. BeamNG Skin Making: A Comprehensive Tutorial - YouTube --- Post updated --- Somehow, I managed to make the plastic fixtures body-colored. Otherwise, it's coming along nicely, with another variation in the works.
I made a skin with the official documentation only, but yeah, you do need to read the whole thing or else you’ll be stuck wondering what jbeam are you copying and why did they call a jbeam a json --- Post updated --- And I had to use MS Paint
