This is why i hate having a laggy 2007 dell, I cannot play any of the good maps d:

 

I think it was time to upgrade 5 years ago...

Dude you got a dell! This was never a good thing. It's still not. 9 year old PC's + Beam = not good. You can get a newer i3 desktop and you'll do fine as long as it comes with some form of decent graphics card from Nvidia or AMD. There's an offtopic-computer hardware forum thread on the forums here, you can post questions about future machine purchases with - or do like we do here, and build our own.

For some reason, this map's not showing up for me. I have it in mods/levels and it's not showing up. I tried to unpack it, but the game said that there wasn't a file there.

I'm stumped by this.

I'm impressed how this map is still working

 

A lot of maps from 2013 still work fine, not much has changed in terms of map making and terrain, vehicles have had the most drastic changes!

 

It was updated only a couple months ago you know.

Or you know he could buy a pc that doesn't have the dedicated graphics built in and buy the graphics card and maybe power supply[if you even need to upgrade those these days]

so what does the future hold for Desert Highway? Any ideas in the works?

 

A crashed UFO, like in ghost desert. Maybe more constructions? making the map look a little bit better and more realistic?
