i have an octocore (8 cores), -snipped long message...more on that in a sec-
i just realised i think you got your people mixed up, when i was talking about the 'stock 3.2 with a turbo to 3.8...' i was referring to deject3d's cpu, not mine.....if you replace -Junky- with -deject3d- then everything would make sense, sorry about the confusion

Ok, just done the Moonhawk, definitely much lower FPS. After this i'm going to pitch all 3 cars against each other to compare FPS on a graph.

    Once again,
    3770K @4.5GHz, AMD Radeon HD6870.
Stock Moonhawk, all lowest settings/res, pure Grid map.

Phsysics On/Off, cars listed from 1 to 10.

this is true for all directx games, and the effect is pretty much negligible.

Heres my results for the D-series on my Q6600 2.4 GHz

    1 car = on 56 off 104
    2 cars = on 21 off 84
    3 cars = on 17 off 71
    4 cars = on 14 off 63
    5 cars = crash

    Covet

    1 car = 64 100
    2 cars = 22 71
    3 cars = 18 67
    4 cars = 13 53
    5 cars = 10 47
    6 cars = 9 44
    7 cars = 8 41
    8 cars = 7 38
    9 cars = 6 34
    10 cars = 5 32

    Moonhawk (Ready for depressing?)

    1 car = 17 93
    2 cars = 15 68
    3 cars = crash

I dont remember my Q6600 performing that bad? Then again i cant remember the last time i tried multiple cars on it. Also its OC'd to 3.0GHz.

When i go to my parents house over summer, its the PC i use, so i'll test it out in a month or so.

yeah, i looked it up and saw it turbo-ed to 3.7, so i used that number...im not familiar with turbo boost but recently i read it only does turbo boost if 1-2 cores are being used. if so then i guess it would be staying at stock clocks while playing the game? Should i change it back to 3.3 or leave it at 3.7??
-also, congratz, you are the only processor that takes up 2 lines in the table  because i refuse to make it any wider

I've noticed that on the first post for the D-series and the Moonhawk you put "Intel Core 2 Q6600" but on the Covet you put "Intel Core 2 Quad"
