CPU performance =/= GPU performance. Consoles are the worst at the exact thing BeamNG happens to need a lot of.

It is actually quite interesting how AMD CPUs preform extremely well for content creation, especially with programs optimized with AMD's instruction set.

The XBox Scorpio mainly has a beefier GPU, there is not much of a reason to make the CPU much better. Console optimization really helps CPU bound situations, but not so much with GPU bound situations. Look at the PS4 Pro, it is able to handle more intensive tasks due to the doubled GPU compute units, and the CPU gained a small overclock. Consoles mainly lag behind (no pun intended) with the GPU. (I am not saying that the CPUs are current, they are not) The XBox One's GPU is basically a radeon 5770, which is a mid-tier GPU from 2009. (The same price point as a RX 460 would be today)

As for the viability on consoles in general, negating performance issues, there would be other problems. Beamng is relatively controller friendly, but a keyboard is really useful, as there are many key bindings. The other issue would be mods. (Correct me if I am wrong, the only consoles I own are the N64, GC, Wii, and PS1. I know nothing of modding on consoles, I am guessing it is similar to steam workshop.) The devs have stated they don't want to use steam workshop (what I am equating to console mod support), as they want to regulate the material, and make sure it is high quality won't be bogged down by crappy russian mods, crappy configs, etc.

the games that have modding on console are FO4, Skyrim, and FS17. all 3 use their devs website for the mod hostage. you select a mod and download it.

That's not true, at all... My PC is crap, my xbox can run games much better than my computer can. BUT, my computer runs BeamNG.Drive at close to 40 fps... (on high settings)

Are you thinking about having a console version because you don't have a good enough computer to run the game? Because if you want the game to feel like a console game you can hook an XBox controller up to yer computer.
