Unsolved confused

i'm trying to recreate something like the above but got confused

They are to the outside in the pic? Or is that not what you meant?

 

i'm trying to figure out if i done the airfilter and turbo correctly, but i got confused as i think that the exhaust smoke is going back into the engine??

There are two sides in turbos, one half deals with exhaust, another with intake air.

 

your point being

 

Air filter goes to turbo intake, tube from compressor housing goes to car's intake, exhaust from engine turns turbine wheel on turbine side of turbo and then exits from the turbo and goes to exhaust pipe, follow that diagram and you get it right, in your first blender pic it is not right from what I can see.
