So I tried Dean Wang's Ram mod.

Spoiler: Here's what I think of it. Used a spoiler so this post isn't a big wall of text.

Honestly, I think a lot of users here has been extremely unfair with their criticisms. IMO it isn't the evil abomination people make it out to be. Is it NinetyNine! tier quality? No. Is it the worst mod ever made? Again no. I would place it at above average, as it isn't the worst mod I ever played with in BeamNG.drive. I can think of actually worse mods that would absolutely live up to the criticisms I see this mod receive *looks at World of Mods and Modsgaming.ru* I'm not talking about their content stolen from here, I'm talking about their "original" mods that are extremely half assed. By "original" which I put in quotations for a reason, I mean the low quality Russian mods you can only find exclusively on their sites. It also does not count for the reuploaded clickbait mods either, as those are technically stolen from groups here, and was made by users belonging to said groups.

I can appreciate this mod for what it is. It does lack some features, like a horn and breakable windows other than the windshield for example, but I legitimately got enjoyment out of driving it around Utah. I can forgive it for what it does lack, because it at least functions ingame, and those low quality Russian mods I talked about lacks even more. At least with this one, Dean has evidently put work and effort into it, and didn't just slap it onto a Grand Marshal and call it a day.

I do have some advice for Dean. This is something I noticed about it that did kinda bug me, when you open the tailgate, it and the rear edges of the bed has invisible spaces. It looks to me like it would be an extremely easy fix. Some simple meshes to fill them in would do the trick I think.


Another thing, which has been brought up before, is the police variant does like to spawn without rear tires. This was the only config where I noticed it. I was able to fix it by adding tires to the rear wheels via the parts menu and then proceed to drive it around. I can confirm it is not triggered by mods. I would fix it by simply resaving the police config with the rear tires added with the parts menu.

 

you could bake normals in blender or use paint.net and a website to convert the texture to normals.
