I've been thinking about tanks lately and in some newish vids from Drowsy Sam they show a bridge that is in sections and can move freely under the weight of a vehicle. Well I was thinking maybe with something like that you could make a tread and you'd just have to lock it to the wheels and it should hypothetically drive, right? I don't know if something like that bridge has been possible for a while because I haven't seen anything like it yet. Just my $.02, because a tread is still run by wheels so in my mind it should be easy to put in but it may not be quite as easy as I'm imagining it.
Mythbuster already released a tank, ok, it was very very crude and more a proof of concept but it did have functioning tracks. Slidenodes were the main restriction for tracks, entirely un-needed for the bridge which is already possible, however the current collision and friction code wouldnt allow a car to drive over the bridge properly whereas it will in the next update.
Not really motivated to do anything for this tank after the suspension ended in disaster. If anyone wants to help me with suspension and wheels I would really appreciate that.
Eh.... first post attachments I'm outta here - - - Updated - - - What are the controls again ? Oh BTW swapped the model out for something better Need to edit the jbeam a bit lol
I don't think it is a good idea to 'bump' old threads. It is important to check release dates of threads.
