I went over engine stuff in another post. There will be 2 engine types. A unrestricted Cup Engine and a restricted Cup Engine. The unrestricted version outputs around 750 hp and rev up to 9,200 rpm (already done) and the restricted version can only rev up to 7,400 rpm and outputs only 400 hp. Tuning wise is why I haven't yet released a wip beta (which I plan on doing soon) because I want several things to be adjustable and tunable before wip release.
I don't want to sound desperate or greedy or anything but do you have a planned release date or a planned time or month for the WIP release?
I don't, but I do plan on doing a very wip release when the vehicle is actually drivable. Atm its nearly impossible to control over 50 mph and I have a Logitech g29 with a H pattern shifter. So I want to make it stable enough to where people can actually drive it normally. Also the wip release wont have the body.
Are you planning on naming this a different name to go on the repository, or are you not going to bother with the repository?
I'm thinking of learning how to make skins, I might do some skins from Burnout since Burnout 3, Revenge, and Paradise had a Nascar of a similar shape (it resembles the Monte Carlo more but I think I can make it work on the Lumina) as it will go nicely with the Burnout Paradise map someone is putting together
iracing's models are encrypted. They're stored in DAT files which is what nr2003 used to store 3D models, game files ect. I do agree though, iracing put insane amounts of detail into the models of the cars and some parts you don't even see. Someone did however get their hands on the iracing 3D models and put up the skip barber 3D model on sketch fab here: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/skip-barber-dream-factory-1ed3779d8c794c20bfa6fbf503b2b8e8
then why not use NR2003's DAT files? they were decrypted (as well as NR2002, NR4, NR LEGENDS and NR3) in a final patch before Papyrus closed down in 2004 as a way to preserve the games.
The baseline will be colorable, but only in one area. I plan on doing a HEAVY WIP RELEASE in about a month or two since I got the suspension in a decent state where it is actually drivable. Will post pictures soon when I properly jbeam the body.
