Most electric vehicles just use air cooling. They make up like 1 of 2 noises a electric car makes.

the most similar electric vehicles to the vivace that i can think of all use liquid cooling:
ford focus
vw egolf
nissan leaf
audi a3
chevy volt

even smaller vehicles, like:
smart fortwo
bmw i3
renault zoe
fiat 500e

in fact, only the least powerful and most budget-oriented electric vehicles seem to use exclusively air-cooling, like the renault twizy and some smaller more obscure brands.

 

Yep I was thinking it over and looked up some stuff. Like you said the cheaper ones use them cos a fans are cheaper than a whole water cooling system. Those cars tend to use less powerful motors and batteries. I would guess the Vivace would use water cooling since it is a slightly upper trim car and would use more premium electric components.

Also the Leaf uses air cooling

 

Not sure why but the Cherry is giving me Mazda vibes and considering that almost every car has more than one interior color option now, I'd like to see this:

 

for anyone else reading this, a quick check proves this to be true, no matter how ridiculous it sounds. this is why nissan is going downhill so fast. stupid decisions that they can market as being "time-saving" or "lower-maintenance". yeah, what happens if you live in arizona. or brazil. or fucking baghdad.

so many places i can think of where air-cooling should be insufficient. why should i constantly have my motor's power reduced further and further the longer i drive for at a time just because of where i live? even someone who knows nothing about cars would care about this, because they would feel like their car isn't working right when it's down on power just because today is a few degrees hotter than yesterday.

 

I mean all electric cars become less powerful the more battery they use. Also heat and cold has been proven to effect battery range and performance. Electric cars are imperfect.

yes imperfect, especially regarding temperature, so it really seems like a bad decision to purposely make it worse, just to save a few bucks...

 

Everyone talking about the engines and the electric motors but I've seen nothing about a Hybrid version?

 

They haven't added that in yet. Its only electric, diesel, or petrol at the moment.
