It is a light car, so far it is keeping to a realistic weight, and I believe that the reason it jumps like a brick is 1. The suspension setup is not made for jumps or heavy work in any way and 2. The car's aerodynamics are really non-aerodynamic (like a brick). The front wheels do need fixing, I will get to work on that.
I'm on a roll! The exterior bodywork is on, not very well, but there all the same. I should have also fixed the steering issue by revamping the entire steering setup, please tell me if I have caused a new issue, by making a new system. :/ Whoo! Alpha 3!
At current alpha release rear suspension collapses when driving over a small bump, but that's understandable for the progress I guess.
I made a bit of progress, so I will keep you updated; Firstly the rear suspension has been stiffened drastically, it is very difficult to break it under standard driving. (Standard irl driving, not standard beam driving, hitting big jumps will break it. Duh...) The interior has also been started, although the props are not finished. Unfortunately, no pics.
Alpha 4 is now public. Contains the Interior_S***.jbeam File. Steering wheel and dashboard, no pedals or dials though. Added glass too, very tinted.
I expected slow, jelly-likeness is one of many things to be added to my list of things to do, right above textures and under fixing the glass --- Post updated --- Not as slow as it is in game, 0 to 10mph in roughly 10 seconds. I can probably walk quicker.
Usually I wouldn't do this, but I googled "charmand cuatro" and I managed to get images from there too. You didn't need @CrimsonCrocodile to do that for you.
Here is two suggestions (I mean things I saw wrong) I am not gonna say things like no textures and somethings aren't modeled yet, as this is still in very early WIP. 1. The roof and doors are deformed a little bit before even moving. 2. I am sorry about that hard work, but from what I know, it is not needed to jbeam the interior! (look at images)
1. The doors and body are not very stable, I agree and I will try to fix that after the suspension and chassis that I an doing now. 2. I fully Know that you don't technically need to jbeam the interior, but to make each seat it's own camera and such I needed to.
Version 5: Test configs added Pickup cab added Short/Standard beds added Front suspension adjusted To do next: Finish rear suspension to a usable state Add van Add convertible Add Project CB for end of march --- Post updated --- https://www.beamng.com/threads/deve...-contributing-post.1575/page-1029#post-997799
