Good point. Guy in our street gets visitors sometimes that own a Cobra, I asked him if it's a real one and he said so, but idk... Didn't seem like the type of chap that would pay (close to) 6 figures for a car... Also, at the garage/tireshop/parking thing where I used to work, my boss owns a 1 of only 8-in-the-world 1956 2-door Hudson Hornet Hollywood Special, which sat in a shed for 7 years: Being restored as we speak, car is all original, paint just needed a buff but came out great. He also owns a 1953 Buick Eight, a Mercedes W220 S600 "long wheelbase" AND a W140 S600(imported from Japan, was quite molested), used to own a mk3 Supra, and I regularly drove his Land Rover Defender, which was quite cool because they're fast in a way that you wouldn't expect for a car that bulky. Basically the parking thing is where people store their cars during winter time, so we got quite cool cars over there. I can't upload pics of all of them of course, but some notable ones were: an original Bauer E30 Convertible, 68(?) Mustang Fastback(that I've ridden in, only muscle car I've ever ridden or sat in... best day at work ever), some old Ferraris, Lamborghini tractor that was still being used, ...
When I was four, I went to this epic Ferrari show, it had Enzos, F40s, F50, Daytonas, and many more. I have to dig up some pictures. I see lots of lambos and Ferraris in Chicago, I have also seen some Shelby 427 cobras around. I once saw a crash between a minivan and some van, one drove away, and the other started chasing, but they were both really old and crappy, so it was like more of a car slow follow than a chase.
I saw this one a week ago: (imported from here) Passed the school bus when I was listening to some good music. I've never seen one in real life before. Somebody in the area also owns an old VW Beetle. I think it's made in the 50's. Looks like this: (imported from here) Another guy in the area owns some old car (20's?) I don't even know the brand of. (imported from here) Kinda like this, but red and with cloth roof. My neighbor has made her Honda into a street car, I can post a picture of it tomorrow if I remember it.
yesterday i saw probably the most expensive car in the carolinas: (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here)
the other week on my way home from Frys Electronics (best electronics store in the us imo) i saw a Tesla Model S (i then proceeded to pass it in my families ford Expedition XLT (hehehehehehe)) (imported from here) there's also this one dude who tends to pass by my house in his shelby cobra, has a positively beautiful engine note
allow me to post the first truck. last "real" pick-up made by jeep view from the front and rear. I say "real" because it does not have a true full ladder frame, it part uni-body, part ladder frame.
I saw a white Cobra with a big black roll bar behind the driver's seat a few months ago - possibly the same one? We do live in the same state...
the one i see is blue with white stripes, i forget the roll bar color (i have a picture on my phone, albeit a crappy one from behind a cracked water damaged window) (although, would have been pretty awesome if it was the same one, as that means i could have met a game dev for one of the best game of the years (imo anyway) )
Too much consumer, not enough hobbyist. Still, looks like radioshack has headed the same way and not being over there its not like I can compare the 2. We only get maplin, maplin or maplin in the UK for electronics :/ And when I say electronics, I mean as in being able to walk into a shop and walk out with assorted capacitors, resistors, IC's and related items rather than "electrical" goods such as TV's and audio systems. Mum asked where I had been once, told her I was at maplins, she didnt know what it was so I said an electronics store, she presumed electronics = electricals and asked if I was shopping for a new TV or something :/ I actually bought a few capacitors and an arduino. Anyway. Cars I've seen. Saw an Evo X today. Drag raced a Renault Scenic yesterday, that was a draw.
strange, idk what fry's you've seen, but the frys i go to has all kinds of capacitors and microcontrollers and all that stuff (as well as other tv's, computers, computer parts, and all that other stuff (heck, they even have some washing machines and dryers)) also, if you talk about all that stuff to make other people get interested in it, i'd like to let you know that you succeeded, im now looking at all the stuff frys has to do with that (even though i don't really understand what half of it is, lol) i did find this though: http://www.frys.com/product/7338864?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG so i suppose that's something i could eventually try (no money atm, i have a bank filling 2 cents to my name right now) OT: i actually saw a 2002 T-Bird the other day, as well as an older mustang (not sure on year, believe it was in the 60-70's range)
Alringht, time to make an actual post here. Ill start by saying i have a mental map of my area using only cars. Lets start. 1. 1969 Camaro, my garage. 2. 1966 Mustang 289 fastback, friends neighbor 3. 1969 Mustang Coupe, random guy who left his garage door open one day. 4. 1979 Z28. I tried to buy the car, but it was his baby and he wanted 7k for running but sitting for 20 years, so i walked 5. 1972 Chevelle SS 454 Convertible. I also tried to buy this car, before i learned it was a real 454 car. It looked decrepit from the road, but it currently has a dart 632 in it. (Yes, he still has the original 454 and M22) 6. 1970 chevelle, Stripped and rusting away in some guys driveway 7. 1933 ford model a hot rod. Driving around i noticed it in a garage. Stopped to talk to the guy. He was cool. 8. 1963 Dodge A100. Uncles. Put a 440 and 727 in it. It was friggen scary. 9-15. Assorted Cuda's, all owned by my uncle, whos collected them for years. 1 1970 440 car, 2 1971 383 cars, 1 1971 318 car, 1 1971 426 hemi car, 1 1974 360 car. Moral of the story is that my area has a bunch of cool cars, and my uncle is a mopar nut. (I should mention the 1971 318 car is the only one that runs and drives, the rest are in various states of restoration/modification)
There's an Audi R8 that lives down the road from me. Beautiful. V10, burnt orange, has a PPR wing on it. There's also a light blue F430 that lives somewhere around me as well, seen it once. And countless Porches. That R8... This color: This wing: Much want.
That is not a Morgan, I have no idea what it is, but its definitely not a Morgan! I see myself as quite lucky with cars, although I live in a rural area in the UK my town seems to attract quite a few classic and vintage cars plus many beautiful motorbikes. Also while out driving ive seen a Bugatti Vayron, McLaren 12c, many Ferraris and when I was younger on holiday in Spain I came across a Ferrari F50 shortly after it was released, it even had a booster seat in the passenger seat for the owners daughter! My best experience however was while talking to a friend outside their house in Hereford UK a few years ago, I could hear a car coming but hadn't heard anything quite like it before, for a split second I thought it was a Ferrari 458 as it came round a bend some 200m up the road, but as it got a little closer at 30mph it actually turned out to be a McLaren MP4 12C XP vehicle. One of a couple pre-production 12C's that were being tested on the road leading up to the final McLaren 12c release. Being a besotted with the McLaren F1 and seeing its little sister car before it was even released really made my day... week.... year!
Saw one of these yesterday: Although it may not seem very impressive, where I live (Canada) no one owns sports cars because the roads are crap and the weather is worst. Seriously, everyone owns an SUV here. The colour is accurate too - why buy a Corvette in Tercel Blue? It's most boring colour ever.. Sample Canadian road: 70% SUVs, 30% Corrollas
Are the roads bad over there, you say? Welcome to Norway. It's in Norwegian, but picture to the left represents Norway, picture to the right represents Africa. This road is located close to where I live. I hope someone makes Trollstigen in BeamNG someday. Heard of so many buses getting stuck in the corners. To get back on topic: I'll upload the pictures of my neighbor's car, let me find them on the phone. Finally got the pictures to work.
I saw this Bugatti when I was in Chicago a couple years back. All these cars were from a local dealership. They hold a free breakfast where everyone can come show off their cars and eat some good food. That corvette has over 850 horsepower. The thing is a beast. I saw this Lambo in my local Fresh Market parking lot. And finally I present to you a Papa John's delivery El Camino. Saw it in Florida last year.
