Lucas has said multiple times that an f1 car will never come. It's too complex for BeamNG to simulate realistically.
On this note - Reverse gear does actually engage, it just had no drive, but the gear does get selected.. On another note, I'm aware the 'T-Cam' camera is for those who like using that view and I do as well, but for realism, will an actual model of a T-Cam or something of that nature be added? Last thing, when using controller, the 'Dpad' 'arrow pad' whatever you call it, allows for pit limiter, bias changes which is great for on the go racing, however, for casual or arcade driving, it over rights the default controls which are usual reset on location, reset car etc - Would or could it be possible to have someone press a button on their keyboard which changes the use of those buttons from car control to defaults? Perhaps is not something you want to do (and when racing these buttons are great), so fine, but thought I'd ask on this for those who now when using this car, don't have their default controls mapped there..
I'm sorry , but you need to get off your high horse and get back to reality. If you can't accept the fact , that people will make modifications to your mods to make it IN THEIR EYES better and to have more fun with it , you should just stop making mods all together.
Not trying to create a controversy, but by looking at your post I understand that first I’ve to ask you for permission to upload an engine mod? I swapped a 2.0L diesel engine with 220hp, if I lower the output to 180hp will be approved? I know that that isn’t realistic but it’s great fun. It’s like if the BeamNG devs stop approving mods of flying cats or a driving piano just because it isn’t realistic
LucasBE - "don't upload a mod with V8 in my bolide this is not realistic!" *Virgin Wojak* Meanwhile some random third world modder - "here is 2 stroke D-Series i hope you like it" *Chad Wojak*
Impeccable build quality, sublime interior, and incredible driving quality. Super fun to run this on ovals. The staff pick was well-deserved. Awesome as always.
Why do I even bother making free mods for this community if this is the kind of shitty response I get in return I never stopped anyone from modding the F4. I still have the right to say if I want a certain mod of my mod to be uploaded here or not, and it's not me being on high horse, it's just basic respect of other people's work. Grow up. You joined 4 days ago mate, how would you know? Also wtf does this have to do with anything??? I'm aware of the last ones, yes. Unfortunately I don't think there's any way to swap out these controls for other ones as the amount of keybinds on a controller is very limited. I chose the ones I personally use the least as to reset I just hit the R key on my keyboard right in front of me even when using a controller. Will consider adding a T-Cam model
Its sad that, when Lucas makes an incredible, free, mod for the community, people still give him crap. And then when he makes paid mods, people still give him crap. I feel bad for Lucas.
Adding to this collection of things I noticed: Not sure if it has been said but the car seems to be beached on any terrain other than the asphalt. I am sure these cars could happily be beached on gravel/sand but I seem to encounter the issue on just grass/dirt which I assume it should still have some movement on albeit, slower..
I've seen the beaching happen on a few maps, mainly modded ones, that have way too deep grass groundmodels. Currently the beaching is simply a byproduct of the car being this low to the ground, so I don't know if I could change it. One example I can give is the Scintilla Race config that also seems to get beached everywhere
so i got my sim rig out to day and tried the hole day to challenge the red bull ring with the Carbon F4 and had a lot of fun my best lap was a 01:33.538 with the aggresiv once and of course the deadbull livery and played bit with the break bias and track temps
finally got a chance to try the mod and i gotta say you've absolutely outdone yourself here lucas, easily some of your best work yet driving feel is fantastic, damage modelling is good and the different aero packages are an appreciated touch. i can see why you went for a lower downforce car it suits itself to beam's physics a lot better i guess if i had any little nitpicks i'd appreciate animated paddle shifters if it's possible to implement them and the engine/gearbox seems a bit harder to seperate from the body than it should be? i'm not exactly talking from experience on the latter though so idk
Hey Lucas. Big fan of your previous work on your other mods. I was wondering how the UV maps work for the F4 car. I'm trying to make a livery and I wanted to know which is which. Thanks!
Very nice mod, handling and ffb are great. Is it the intention that the brakes are very difficult to lock up? I can apply 100% brake pressure at low speeds and brakes will not lock up. I think it is more fun to be able to have brakes that you have to be careful with without ABS. --- Post updated --- To share, here is very scrappy lap of hirochi raceway long circuit with aggressive configuration
