Fiat Punto. Twice. From a clean cut car with sharp design... To Italian ennui on 4 wheels. While Fiat replaced the facelifted Mk2 Punto with the below Grande Punto, Fiat decided to facelift the Grande Punto only 3 years later, and messed up AGAIN. From a beautiful Italian hatchback, the best looking in its class: To a disgusting mess of chrome and plastic, one of the ugliest in its class.
The Acura beak grille is probably the most ugliest on the CSX, basically a JDM Civic under the Acura brand for Canada specifically.
I went to Canada and saw that, which immediately made me think: “Hmmm, what’s that?” I agree that the grille was awful.
Strange thing is that I did spot one CSX... and it happened to be in the US. Guess someone was really attached to their CSX. Anyways, that CSX I spotted was the pre-facelift, which looks pretty tolerable enough. But the beak grille on the facelift is the sin of it all. I don't mind the rest of the car, but it's just the grille that takes the decency of the car's design a notch down.
I will post my post as a reply, 1970 dodge charger > New Dodge Chargers, they turned it into a family sedan... If you really wanted a sedan Charger, make it separate, but make a modern take on the 70's design like Dodge did with the charger. This is silly, but Cadillac, when leaving the 50's, they lost tail fins, 0/10 cant tail fin again.
This doesn't mean I don't like the new Focus. It just looks like Ford designers used Mazda 3 proportions while designing it. Previous gen was much more original.
