I used this website to get the terrain data from Google Maps: https://tangrams.github.io/heightmapper/#14.25/-33.5952312/150.2422967
I do like the look of this. But... If I suggest... can you... make the trees a lot taller? and a little more... rainforesty? Dunno if you've been to vic before but we've got this legendary road called the black spur. Ive been on it a few times and its really smooth and nice. It could be rad with fog and shit enabled.
your goofy ass talking about mount Victoria, or bout the black spur? A: Contrary to the name it in NSW. B: I said the spurs in Vic, which short for victoria
Personally I think its getting there, but still a long off Most country roads here have edges that drop off and sometimes lead into ditches. As well as that, the shoulders are very narrow sometimes non existent. And on the edges of the road theres usually a lot of dead plant build up and thick sooty soil with patches of grass. The road also needs more changes in elevation and forest closer to the edge of the road. Even the tarmac itself looks to fresh, generally its a faded charcoal and littered with potholes
What do you think? (the American traffic lights are temporary) Also here's an important announcement: I'm commissioning anyone to make me a complete set of working Australian traffic light models including poles.
I do have some roads that look like that, I'll take some snapshots of them later. The ones that I have been showing are the highways and main roads. --- Post updated --- Here are some of the snapshots I promised. As you can tell there is a massive ditch on the left-hand side of the road and the pavement is old and faded. I'll be adding some potholes and patchwork later on.
Sorry, but I'm thinking of cancelling this. I'm not that happy and I'm now working on a PBR Aussie map which will be shared here soon, small non-PBR Aussie island map called Corella Island, and a PBR American map called Big Island, USA.
Because I'm working on other map projects and don't have time for this one anymore. In the world editor
