Big city map?

    Greetings to everyone, especially developers (or modders), if you read this.
    I have a little idea. Not even an idea how much offer. Why not make a map imitating a big city?
    Yes, I know that the West coast with a megapolis is in development and it's wonderful, but I still want to see a certain parody of New York, Chicago or Philadelphia.
    Purely urban neighborhoods, with junctions, bridges, tunnels, highways and ordinary city streets.
    Why not?

    What about one of these crazy cities like Tokyo in Japan? I think BeamNG should have a map based off Japan. I think a Japanese city map will be perfect to slide your drift cars around.

    Yeah i also wanted to kill my graphics card.

    Unless there's some big map mapping improvements you can forget about it. Historically city maps are a hog in almost any videogame ever. JRI is already somewhat hard on your FPS and the closest you will get to what you want was generic city (discontinued) or Garfield Heights.

    Yeah the previous guy was right, they dont accept requests. Mine about sport and supercar was rejected either, so in my opinion this request topic should be closed.

    There are big "map mapping" improvements currently underway. For WCUSA, (and presumably Italy), building components are being placed as forest datablocks, combined with the strategy of breaking city blocks up into separate meshes for the sake of LoD improvements.

    According to @B25Mitch, WCUSA is running fairly well graphics-wise.

    But we still dont know how big the city map is really gonna be.

    Could be a 5km by 5 km big full of city shit on top of what was already shown of a wangan style highway, a racetrack, a drift mountain, and a 1/4 strip, or the city could be more or less the size of ECU.

    The very first post of WCUSA's development thread states that the entire map measures 2km x 2km, and the included map shows the city taking up roughly the bottom quarter. That's big compared to the town included with ECUSA, but I trust the devs when they say their new techniques allow it to run without tanking FPS.

    500 meters x 500 meters of downtown big city looks very small to me.

    Its a shame if the devs have to make an LA/San fran city feel out of an 4km squared map. I know that they think about performance too but when there are modders that come up with such big maps you really feel bad about some stock maps.

    Very small and its not supported anymore.

    It works. Trust me. It's small, but even then, it's bad on FPS. Big cities are impossible.

    Big cities impossible? well, might as well try. Its the only thing that i truly feel the game NEEDS.

    And yes, even that expressway 1.1 is quite small. Detailed, but small.
