Buying a AE86 today is not that cheap a IROC today can go for $500-$10,000 and cheap as hell parts.

You could buy an $500 IROC, but you should not.

But, the AE86 is an iconic car with tons of pop culture and racing pedigree, amazing reliability, great aftermarket, stunning looks, and most of all a fantastic driving experience.

The IROC is a great car, but it was just a beefed up third gen, whereas the AE86 was something much more special.

I suppose in america the IROC is the best choice due to its popularity, and every junkyard has its fair share of third gens rusting away so parts are easy as hell to find.

In europe and japan, I'd still go with the AE86 though, as fuel is more expensive and parts are easier to find for it (4age motors came in everything toyota made in the 80s here, and there's plenty of wrecked Hachirokus in japan leftover from the 90s street racing scene ;))

It is, the IROC is the car almost everybody who have a father who played football (American because some euros are cunts) and was born in 1983-1993 because you where made in that.
