It isn't bad TBH. If you have a microcenter always use it though.

    Yeah, hadn't checked there yet.

They have the i5-4690k with this motherboard for $320 + tax, which ends up about $340

Not bad, but IMO I'd rather go for a 4790k and lower end z97 mobo at that price point. Also not worth the $50 extra since 90% of chips will be limited in overclocking by themselves and not the board, even if it is a base z97/87. I'm also thinking of selling my 4670k for about $150-200 once I figure out exactly where it's oc's and temps lie. I never really pushed it and it has a low stock voltage. Idk, it might be a good chip, if not a great one.

    I don't need hyperthreading.

I can always sell the CPU and upgrade that bit later. I'd rather get a better mobo now with a good CPU, then trade later for a great CPU.

It makes sense. Honestly most haswells only clock to 4.2-4.4Ghz under 1.3v and really don't push even the low end G41 mobo from MSI.

If my mobo supports it I plan to get a 4790k and use that devil canyon POWAHHHH to clock to 5.eleven Terahertz. (I'd seriously push for 4.6-4.8 or so. We'll see what haswell can do with slightly better thermals.)

I had my 3770K at 4.8 and noticed zero difference doing anything. I don't see the point.

What amount of PPD can I expect from my R7 250x+E7500 (i know my CPU is around 200PPD daily)?
    /iarenoobmode=off
    I'm getting a Hyper-X R7 250x by Sapphire.

    You. :p
    I'd say around 40k ppd. The 250x is a 7770 right?
I notice a huge difference from 3.6 to 4.3, and then DS's chip seems to have a smaller yet sizable difference to mine at 4.6. I do enough stuff to where tr threads would make a massive difference and even another .2Ghz is worth it. I usually run two servers, a game and 3-4 tabs at once with my machine. A monitor comes first though.

Yep. I'm not sure if the factory OC would do anything, they raised the clocks by 25%.

You didn't provide any of this information when asking and I don't troll forums enough to know what you are doing / where you are. GG
