I'm folding about 16-18 hours a day now. Would do 24/7 but I'm back into playing games, and Netflix doesn't enjoy it.
Awesome guys! Glad to see you all folding. I'd love to, but Gigabyte won't RMA my card because it still works, only compute breaks it.
I dropped out of the forum for some time, but I still play the game almost daily. On topic: I overhauled my gaming rig a while back, dropped in a GTX 960 OC. Had to look up thje Beam.Ng team number, dug through this thread. I'm back to folding, this time with a high end GPU. Go Team!
Been running for about 9 hours (installed for the first time today), completed 2 work units and almost finished the third. 3507 pts. I wonder what kind of toaster takes 8 days to complete a work unit
Finally started folding again. I usually leave it running for about 5 hours while I'm off at class, and an hour or two here and there when I'm off doing other things like work and eating. I've asked my roommate if he minds the noise all my fans make, and he claims it doesn't, but sooner or later he'll crack and can't stand my whirring fans for 5 hours everyday.
For some reason, my display drivers crash everytime I try to fold. I've tried underclocking my cards, reinstalling video drivers and rolling back drivers. No luck. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Since it seems like our team is quite dead now and a unit has not been completed since roughly 2015, now is a better time than ever to try and take that lead spot after a few weeks/months of folding have been finished @SeaDooSnipe
Only been a few years, that's the spirit! What GPU are you running? I'm picking up another R9 290 to go with mine soon so shouldn't be doing too bad.
I have been meaning to setup some dual xeon machines(not highend ones by any means though) and some other random dualcore computers to start folding for the team. think its worth it? i would fold with my desktop, as i have a r9 390, gtx 660 and two gtx 760,butttt my room gets too hot. though it IS winter. so i could just turn heat down and run it when im away.
Any help is good help they say. CPU folding PPD benefits greatly from increased thread count even sometimes despite IPC performance (This is not the case with FX series processors though). My room has no heat whatsoever so my 290 going 24/7 minus when I game is very welcome lol.
