Beamng exe has a trojan?

If that's the case, then why are people having problems opening the game after "detecting a virus"?

 

This is just transferring files. If you would like to wait for the developers you can but it is not dangerous.

I also noticed that Steam couldn't open BeamNG due to a missing .exe.

 

Again this is something transferring files so it has to start opening the game. This happened even before I opened the game it was as soon as i updated it. (opening the game}

 

Did it mention any .exe files in the message?

 

That is the "Trojan" You have to reinstall.

yes i had the exact same thing.

 

I reinstalled twice, first one didn't fix the "Trojan" but the second one refuses to finish the download because of several things, relating to this "Trojan"

 

Windows Defender deleted "BeamNG.drive.exe" but Steam immediatly re-downloaded the exe, then I excluded "BeamNG.drive.exe" from Defender (I deactivated Defender completely, I use Malwarebytes). This worked for me.

It is not a "Trojan" it is there on purpose. Have you guys lost trust in the devs of this game or something?

So, i got beamng to work by deactivating my antivirus. I trust the beamng devs that they have not put a trojan in beamng.

 

I've tried getting defender to allow running it but it did nothing so I'm guessing I'm gonna have to wait for the devs to release a patch for it

 

I would not advise trying to let it bypass the defender, I assume someone hacked / compromised the beamng systems to install a trojan into the Exe. As I have multiple versions of windows running my steam through different antivirus's and its still appearing.

Don't believe everything the antivirus says, it probably just says that because the devs changed something that windows didn't like.

 

No, I don't think so, its just having to be careful, if you notice anything happening, let us know on here, as it can cause stuff like blue screens and random cpu lockups

Yeah, most of the time, but i've run it a few times now using different antivirus's (I have a couple PC's) and its still appearing on them.

 

Yes, we can hope that it was not someone who put a trojan in beamng without devs knowing.

 

I do doubt it, false positives are highly likely, but for it to happen to every copy of beamng on 22.0.1 means something is wrong.

 

Did it happen for most people that play beamng?
