    I suspect your laptop is "low profile" with little to no active cooling, so overheating is definitely the problem. Making sure all of its vents are clear, and using something to prop it up of the table might help. If it has fans, you'll probably hear them spinning up when you start BeamNG, but if you don't you can try to find some fan control software to force them to full speed. You can also buy a laptop cooling pad, but it can only do so much.
